For starters, i did write on similar subject where I also added that folks should keep posting to relevant tags and for minnows direct at less busy ones. constant engagement to get followers and follow the rules.

I actually didnโt know that about the Steemit logo and thought the new one was free to use just like the old one. Very helpful.
I couldnโt agree more about your comments regarding spamming and begging for upvotes. Surely it must also be quite humiliating for the person doing the begging.
It kind of reminds me of some advice I received years ago. Walk into the room as if you already belong there. That way people will treat you with respect immediately. The same goes for Steemit. Treat Steemit like you know you belong and as if everyone here is your family.
You wouldnโt beg your family to follow you would you? Youโd just expect that they will in their own good time.
And youโll only gain followers if your content is good. Produce shit content and no one will show any interest.

Great value in this post. Thanks for putting this together. I've picked up on these fast myself, but I realize a lot for people go about building their account the wrong way. Begging and not providing value to the community doesn't help anyone. I constantly remind people just to provide great quality to Steem and being genuine is way better.
