A major upgrade to steem protocal today! Im sooooo confused !?
Is there anyone out there in" Steemit Land" that can explain this newest upgrades , for those of us that are newbies, or just have a hard enough time understanding all of this to begin with!?

It would be much appreciated by many of us , especially minnows, just what does all this mean, in simple, easy to understand language, and exactly whats the most important thing we need to know from this new update!?
Also im having a hard to figure out this 5 votes per day, but you can vote as many times as you like!? I just dont get it! If were only allowed 5 votes per day , how can we possibly vote as many times as we like?! I mean this seems to be taking all the fun out of voteing! And what about the replies to posts?! If we upvote a coment does that count as one of my 5 votes per day!? On curation.

I've explained it in my post. I was confused myself a bit as well. Its just not explained super well.
Essentially don't worry about and simply vote for whatever u want. You can vote as much as you want.

Its a safety mechanism. So if you are happy with your account than you don't need to worry about it. Its for big accounts that you can now protect against hacks so hackers can't just steal ur funds of they hack you pw. Its actually awesome!
Dan is very good at looking at other blockckchains and figuring out how to solve their problems. So this time he made sure that the bitfinex hack can't happen to steem if you use your account right.

From reading other posts my understanding is that you can vote five times at full power....OR...you can vote as many times as you want at LESS power.
Consider an analogy. Assume you have a solar 'water maker'. It condenses water out of the air and drip...drip...drips into a tank. It takes all day to full up the tank. NOW you can vote five times at full power before the tank goes dry. OR you can vote at lesser power more often.
Note: if you don't vote at all the water spills over the side and is wasted.
So how then do we vote at full power or say 25 percent power!? I just tap on the upvote and its the same as it always was, theres no way to tell how much power im voteing? And does it cost alot to vote 100 percnt? I dont get it! Sorry.
They added a 'slider' for people with more than 300 steem power. The slider lets them control how much power they vote with, but for the rest of us we don't even get to see the slider. And it doesn't cost us anything to vote, if you vote at 100 percent you only need to wait a few hours and then your voting power should be back up again.
So then my first vote is automatically 100 percent, which probably goes to my first post for upvoteing myself?! Since i have no control over it, then it goes down from there?! So iguess theres no need to worry about it since we cant control it anyways! And what about all the other ,stuff?! 🤔
