RE: @just2random is Leaving Steemit and This is a Real Problem

Wow! I had no idea I had made such an impact in a short period of time, you are truly a great Steemian. But what you say is very true and well communicated as usual.

The quality of your writing is the real difference to your success, and sure the SP helps but I just can't afford to sink that sort of money into Steem to make it work.

And to be honest from Day 1 I've been out of my comfort zone because I've spent my whole life avoiding people, and Steemit is a social platform after all.

Now I tried to be an active community member and although my personality type is INTP I am borderline introvert/extrovert so I can be either if I choose, but the extrovert is much more draining and only makes an appearance in social gatherings.

And I never came to Steemit thru the lure of making more money than posting on Facebook because I rarely spend any time on any Social Media full-stop.

I hate social media, but I do like to write, so that's the Steemit I love. But as I mentioned, I can't do it for the love, when there are bills to pay.

During the last few months, I've totally neglected my off-Steem assets, thinking going 'All-In' was going to work. But it hasn't.

And I don't need another distraction right now, so my post was to explain, I wasn't going to be reading, commenting and posting as frequently as I had.

I haven't given up on Steem.

But Steemit has lost me for now, while I work on the bigger picture.

I just don't have 12 months of grinding in me to grow within my circle, to make it worthwhile.

And I can still earn better money on YouTube than dTube because my target audience isn't here yet and despite its trappings YouTube continues to pay over the life of your channel, so it all adds up over time.

Finally, as you say, growing on Steemit is getting harder day by day, so I'll be interested in your comprehensive analysis so don't hold back.

But also be rest assured it's long-form posts like these that add the real value to the platform, and should be rewarded more than most. It just doesn't work out that way.

I'll be back, but on my own terms and not because I can make more money posting on Steemit, than Facebook, but rather because I have something important to say.

Sort:

I may have taken some poetic license with respect to your future intentions in order to add some drama to the post :) This series of posts is something that has been bubbling about in the back of my mind for a while though, so you definitely gave me the motivation to put pen to paper!
