My Flag Rant

I am not ranting about my own flags that people gave me, that would be too self centered. No this is about some folks that zip around Steemit and flag posts that are really not "flag-able".

That is not my opinion, merely a fact.

Just like a Newbie - Minnow, needs to learn that a lot can be made on Steemit Curating by writing replies and upvoting replies but you need 300 minimum Steempower, the fact is, for whatever reason - people can flag you and that's life.

It depends on why they are flagging you. You might be recruiting the 4th Reich. Most people who know about the Third Reich would not want a Fourth Reich. If someone had a brain, and their family was part of the Third Reich, most of the family members who survived the end of the Third Reich would not want a Fourth Reich. So flagging the Fourth Reich might be justified.

No, this is about the flagging of professionals, who for whatever reason, have decided to publish on Steemit and their work is so high a quality. They have already made the big bucks. They already have totes of work under the arms in a portfolio and yet they get flagged and they are down vote flags as well.

Now it is possible you are a Newbie or not really even a Minnow, just Roe, and you actually click a flag and have no idea what you are doing. This happens.

Then, there are the malicious with the power to down vote and cause the loss of income to a content provider that knows what they are doing. For whatever reason, it is malicious. And it looks like what you see up above next to your post on the right. Someone has flagged you.

Now I had no idea what this was and saw it next to my posts, about every three. Fortunately, I was talking to a professional content provider and the professional content provider showed me this.

When one enters this, which I just did because I saw the picture with the post to the right of his post. Sure enough, a whale down voted his post. It says "downvote" who did it and at what percentage. So, what this whale has been doing is down voting posts and then later removing the down vote so that the whale is not caught. Only, the flag in the picture is left to show somebody did it to the right of the post.

As I wrote earlier on someone who complained about nasty comments people can make that can ruin a whole career, content providers have to be thick skinned and should even be masters of martial arts.

The point is - Steemit promises pay can be earned by posting and that happens but the flagging system is misused and when that occurs, most people quit Steemit.

Now, like most people, because I am greedy, evil, and so on, I want Steemit to prosper, that way I can live and gain retirement besides social security. I want my relatively few steempower to turn into a nest egg and so does everyone else because - no it is not because we are greedy, evil, and so on.

The flagging system needs a change so it cannot be abused or misused, so Steemit can grow, grow, grow.
