The future of Steamit is not so rosy.

This post was first written in Korean(스팀잇의 미래는 그렇게 장미빛은 아니다(48 voting in KR)). But I am curious about the opinions of other Steamit users other than the Korean community. So I re-worte it in English. (Because my English is not fluent, there can be a bad sentence and word.)

Steamit is becoming more and more closed, and may eventually rot.

I'll write my first post on steam it with a somewhat stimulating sentence.
(It could be the first and last posting, or it might be the first page of a massive record.)

I expect this posting will not receive much attention and will not receive much upvote. Because I did not build relationships by commenting on the content of many people in order to increase the upvoting of my articles and this article does not explain Steamit's greatness.

Nevertheless, I am interested in trying and growing Steamit, so I will write my personal thoughts on this post for Steamit's content diversity.

Steamit is a platform that has a lot of structural problems.

In order for content creators to receive the appropriate rewards through Steamit and the platform to be sustainable, stakeholders at 2-side must meet each other's needs. The writer who writes and the reader who reads the article are the stakeholders.

Most of the articles that are currently being upvoted on Steamit are articles about the block-chain technology and Steamit itself. (If it is not, they are whale-specific articles for whale selection.) In other words, diversity of creators and readers is not secured.

Securing the reader is very difficult compared to securing the creator. (The reader here is SteamIT user, who can upvote.) You can still read and write articles written by Steemit if you have only link. This means that readers can consume high-quality content from Steamit without any hassle.

How much quality content should be written so that readers who are not members of Steemit will wait for approval and sign up for Steemit?

In reality, this is very difficult. Above all, it's only possible to achieve creativity in a variety of content. However, the creator has no reason to post on the Steumit platform unless there is a reader available to upvote his article.

Is it a normal content platform to create voting bots, self-voting, ... and supporting newbies?

From now on, the virtuous ring will not be properly engaged. As mentioned before, most of the people who are uploading content from Steamit now want to upload articles that match their whale's preferences, voting bots, exchanging votes with each other, and receiving compensation I will judge. It is because of the current bias of Steamit's readers that those who posted quality content on the block-chain technology receive a lot of rewards. The bias of this readership does not seem to change easily.

Also, the time constraints of the 7 day rewards make it more difficult for newbies to upload and maintain quality content. In the case of newbies, no matter how good the quality of the content is, if you are the creator and you are not in the relationship as Steamboat as a reader, it will be in the sky within a short period of 7 days. kr-newbie tagging, voting bot, steam power rental ... These unusual behaviors will eventually be a stumbling block to content production and consumption.

Nevertheless,

The reason for writing Steamit is that Steamit's attempt is very desirable. A structure in which contents are influential as contents and appropriate compensation is given to the creator. One attempt to solve this in the form of a block chain is a breakthrough in ideas and a beginning of reform.

With the advent of Steamit, people will become aware of the value of content and will be able to spread the thought of the articles written and shared online. However, there is still room for improvement in that it is a platform with a lot of unstable elements, and it may be possible to improve such issues by repairing Steemite's compensation structure. (In fact, it seems more fitting to think that similar platforms like the Steamit, which are lacking in Steamit, are coming up more and sooner.)

I hope that 2nd and 3rd steamit will continue to develop and that the days when the creator of the content will be able to receive a more stable treatment will soon be completed.

Thanks.
