Hello to all dear friends of steemit, my name is @jacksartori and today I want to share with you some tips on how to use Steemit.
For this reason I have created a small guide that will be developed in 4 parts.
The purpose of this guide is to improve the quality of posts and help newcomers.

SECTION OBJECT
1 section Basic commands
2 section Advanced commands
3 section The curse of copyright and how to defeat it
4 section How to delegate and undelegate

The curse of copyright and how to defeat it.

You have just finished to write your article, you are going to publish it but ... you see something is missing. You reread it and notice that the cover image does not convince you. So you decided to open internet and start to looking for another one you like, download it and put it on your post ... Unfortunately it does not work like that.

You must pay attention to the Copyright

But what is the copyright?

According to Ann Marie Sullivan we could define the Copyright as a legal right that grants the creator of an original work exclusive rights for its use and distribution for a certain period of time.

BUT

What happens if I have published a post with copyrighted material (example: photo, video...)?

According to the numerous legal provisions (for example: Berne Convention, the Universal Copyright Convention, WIPO, TRIPS agreements. 4.1. , WCT and WPPT), share photos or videos subject to copyright on own web pages or blogs without paying copyrights constitutes a crime and is punished by the removal of the disputed work and the compensation of damages.

How to protect you from copyright, the two steps:

  1. Search for image: Inside Google immages there is a tool that allows you to search images without copyright. I made you a screenshot. It is written in Italian (because I am Italian), however you can classify images according to your preferences (with copyright, without copyright)

  2. Cite sources: It is very important to mention the sources under each image or video of others, in this you can demonstrate to the reader the origin of your work.

It is very important to follow both steps to avoid copyright infringement

For today the third session about "The curse of copyright and how to defeat it" is completed. I hope you enjoyed it and found it useful.

Remember a text with good content and a beautiful structure is a quality post.
Here on Steemit a quality post is a post that makes you gain.
