How I Made $8.71 For ONE Comment
Steemit is fast becoming my go-to social media site. I get a lot of my news from here and I enjoy reading and watching the posts that you all have shared.
It is also a good way for me to earn some money. I am fairly new here (less than a month) and my earnings are all over the place. Some posts earn $40 and some earn 10 cents. But no matter, I still post on a daily basis and I engage with the community as mush as possible.
This engagement has also started to earn me some money as well. In the above screencap, you will see that I earned $8.71 from one comment. That is amazing!
Commenting on posts is part of my engagement with the community. When I post a comment I try to add value to the conversation. I don not just leave, "great post!" and move on. I do my best to share something of value.
The fact that I can be rewarded so handsomely for my comments, makes me want to contribute more. The more we all contribute to the community, the more valuable it will be.

Isn't that the best? And usually, it seems totally random. I'll leave like 10 great comments, and none of them will earn me much. Then, suddenly, one will get upvoted by a whale or a few dolphins.
It took me by such surprise, I had to go back and look at all the transactions on my account before I finally found it.

Some days are better than others. I just keep putting out the best content I can.

I feel the same way. I put so much effort on other sites before for zero engagement (other than the generic comment that literally said 'come see my site'...) but I'm in shock as to how much this is taking off for me so quickly, not only that but how the community genuinely want to interact with each other. I find myself slowly drifting away from other sites and focusing more and more on here
I have pretty much abandoned all other social media sites. I still have friends and family on there and I respond to their messages but that is about it.
If this keeps up I might end up going the same way...
