SteemFollower down - follower growth halted :(
For the past few days I have been watching my followers grow at a steady pace thanks to steemfollower.com. This morning as I was doing my daily routine, checking my follower numbers and post performance, hoping over to steemfollower.com to follow more steemians and up-vote good posts, I was greeted by this:
I thought my internet connection had been interrupted so I checked other websites and they were working, I tried with another browser and the result was the same :( .
I checked again my stats and I noticed that my followers number had not changed much since yesterday. This means the site is down for whatever reason, I really hope it will be up and running again because it has helped me tremendously in a very short space of time. It is very hard to get followers and up-votes in this community. One can spend the entire day posting, following people and up-voting their posts (well not so much for the up-voting due to declining voting power) and get nothing in return. Steemfollower helps us to be followed back and rewards up-voting by promoting your post until you get back the equivalent of your voting efforts.
If that is not a fair system, I don't know what is. Yes most of the voters are minnows like me and their up-votes are worth almost nothing but until your up-votes have been matched, your post will continue being promoted for free. That is the coolest thing I have seen since steemit. If you have a different opinion, feel free to leave a comment below and support it with reasons why you do not agree.

thank you for your feedback. May you kindly elaborate on "contributing values", what exactly does that entail?
I think what he's referring to is that being active within the steemit community and posting valuable content - be that a post that gives the reader a feeling or a "take away" learning etc, a comment that's been thought out and provides lets say a solution, valid or constructive criticism or insight and lastly upvoting content which is truly rich.
In my limited experience on the platform, it seems that voting solely to make money can work but it's a longer process than absorbing content and having a strong opinion on the "right content" - which may stand out naturally - and upvoting it. The encouragement partly being on your timing, thus you spend more time on the site and perhaps discover more content...

Thank you for your comment. I want to point out that I do spend a lot of time on Steemit, trust me on that. I read a ton of posts daily. Even when using steem follower for upvoting, I don't just upvote whatever post. I go through each listed post and I read the post to see if it is worth my upvote. The only difference with doing it on steemit.com is that on steemfollower I am guaranteed that I will be rewarded more for my time than I would on steemit.com because I get votes in return that are equivalent to my upvotes value. Some people sell upvotes and I'm pretty sure most of us have paid for votes from voting bots. Even the top contributors vote for each other mostly to benefit self. Using steem follower does not necessarily mean I am not making a contribution to the community.
