According to the coinmarketcap.com, Steem has a market capitalization of $775,287,513USD, the market capitalization of a coin in simple terms just refers to the amount of money that is invested into that particular coin.

Circulating Supply

The Circulating supply of a coin is the amount of coin available at the present time and circulating in the market, for Steem this value is 246,033,198 STEEM, it is said that crytocurrency with low circulating supply and high market capitalization would increase rapidly in price than a coin with a high circulating supply and low market capitalization.

So How Does Steem Get to $10

With the current Circulating Supply of Steem and it's available market capitalization, Steem has been made to have a price of $3.15USD, that is the market capitalization divided by its circulating supply gives the current value of the coin.
So it is therefore ideal to say that for the price of Steem to reach a projected $10, it has to have an increased market capitalization value based on it usability, so with the current circulating supply of the coin, a required market capitalization of $2,460,331,980USD.
