SteemSwap.com Is Closing Sept. 19
I just wanted to put up a quick post to let everyone know that due to a lack of interest I have decided to shutdown SteemSwap.com. I would like to thank the few that did visit the site and post an ad.
I do still feel that there is a huge need for an ebay or craigslist type marketplace, whether it be built on top of the blockchain or independent. I see more and more people using the news feed to sell items and services and that is awesome because it tells me that steemians want to see Steem succeed by looking for ways to expand the currency usage past voting power and selling it for BTC.
I think maybe it's still a little early for a market place style site or perhaps just a admin who has more time to take on this project to do the proper marketing and a more in depth build to incorporate some of the apps that have been created for the Steemit platform like Steempay.io, possibly a 2 of 3 sig account for escrow.
Again I would like to thank everyone for the initial excitement and support and a special thanks again to the few that posted to the site, SteemSwap might return in the future if I can find the time and money to dedicate to doing it right.
I think your problem was that no-one knew your service existed, I certainly didn't.
Did you ask the developers if they could put a link to it in the drop-down on the top right?
I can agree with that, I didn't want to spam the news feed and I never got the time to create and execute a solid marketing plan.
Could you ask the developers if they could add a link to steemswap to this site? Please don't throw in the towel till you have explored all options.

Please consider RSVPing to the beyond bitcoin hangouts man. We are here to help people like you get noticed. For instance did you know ned posted a bounty of 4k SBD for a bounty website using steemdollars? This looks like its very close to what needs done for this. :)

It's a good idea, but you need more folks using Steem. hold onto the domain!

There was one before mine, steem-market I think, I have also heard that there might be one in development thats on the blockchain.
I might try to launch again when my day job slows down a little and I have more time to dedicate to marketing it.

Thanks for your initiative @highlite! Grateful this is coming to our attention, even if it is a bit late. One of the most exciting things about Steemit is its potential for evolution; this is a fantastic idea to build upon while we create the new economy. We just added steempay.io options to our website to show our support for and faith in this platform. The more ways we can exchange Steem/SBD for real physical goods, the better. Would be wonderful to have a central trade location for buyers and sellers to come together, and even for market makers to exchange knowledge!
