Just a question for all to discuss (declined payout post)

in #steemit7 years ago

Hello Steemians,

question-512.png

I was just wondering if anybody could explain why my acount value has gone down from $72 to $57 in a short time? My account was at $60.77 at 3 am and is now at $57.39.

Is this happening to anybody else?

Is this a nominal fee, which I didn't know about, of $3 per day?

As a minion, my posts earn very little, barring one, which did very well and bumped the account up to over $70 which was brilliant, but I have lost just under 20% of my balance in a short time and it seems to just keep continuing. I feel that I may end up with a debt here if this continues with the trend it appears to be following.

It's not the money, but if I am going to buy Steem, I want to know what I'm buying into completely, before I do, and this does look a tad suspicious to me.

Can anybody shed light on this at all?

Thank you for reading.

All the best.

You did not lose any money t all; it's just that the value of Steem has gone down. They used to be worth around $1.40 or so a few days ago, but now they're closer to $1.15 per Steem, so the estimated account value for everyone is a lot lower now. However, you still have exactly the same amount of Steem in your account, so this will only affect you if you are selling Steem right now.

Ahh, okay, that makes sense, thank you. I did look at the price of Steem yesterday and they were at just under a dollar each where I looked, but probably not the best source, but I thought they were at one dollar previously, so dismissed that as a possibility.

Thank you for clearing it up for me and all's well, besides me accidentally clicking on withdraw steem instead of steem up and now have to withdraw to add again, as no way to reverse the action.

Thanks again for the comment :).

Hi ! I think that steemit value lowered because people have been taking the end of month payouts, I saw this happen last month as well, I'm sure this is temporary and the price will come up again soon, regards Gez...

It seems to be dropping too fast for that to be the case. A post went from $75 to less than $70, but stabilised to I think $72 in 7 days, which seems to be normal, to spread the Steem, so to speak, but the $3 per day seems a bit too regular and excessive, percentage-wise. If everybody has lost 20% of their money in the last week, then this would make sense, but if it were so, then I'm sure there would be more posts than just mine regarding this :).

Thanks for the comment @ gezzazoom

this guy explains things much better that I ever could Boxmining
@boxmining he is worth following just to keep up to date, good luck.

Cheers, I'll check @boxmining out. @valth has explained things a little better, as I get the point that the Steem doesn't change. That said, it is a lot of a drop, but we'll see if it goes up again over the coming month or so.

Thanks for the reply, @gezzazoom :).

My pleasure, good luck, regards Gez........

If you continue to troll me, @arthur.geko, I will report you and it that fails, I will downvote you. Please leave me alone and stop tying to turn this experience into Facebook for me. You're adding your own brand of negativity to my posts. Please stop it, as that is what Facebook is about, not Steemit. Please understand what I am saying and stop trying to spoil things for me. I do not want discussion. Thank you.
