Hello Steemians,

I am sure that I am not the only person to suffer from this, but I just can't do Facebook any more. No, I don't mean integrate with it and use it like most folk do. I mean something much more important. I want to bring all of the creative, free-thinking, genuine people over to Steemit, because they deserve to and need to be here, we need to grow all of the time and because Steemit is so amazing on so many levels. But, here's my problem - due to my old business, I am friends with comedians, magicians, artists, creators, writers and all sorts of other positive types, but I also know lots of people who are smug, condescending, patronising, troll-like, spammy, unbelievably egoistical and ego-centic, uncreative, war-mongering, argumentative or destructive.

Many are not aware of their problems, but they are based around closed-mindedness and my free-thinking self discords massively and takes umbrage, so Facebook is very literally bad for my health, both mentally and physically, emotionally and spiritually (or on a creative/passionate level). I am not for that place any more, and have only recently re-visited after 38 weeks of non-use to start campaigning against Nestle, and I didn't find Steemit on there. Steemit is designed to dismiss or remove such folk, anyway, but it is always a damaging process to have to go through, just to re-learn something that you were already very well aware of.

So, how do I do it? I could maybe open a private message and share the info, but this is where another problem arises. I am yet to formulate a simple couple of paragraphs that would promote Steemit in such a way as it covers all of the relevant introductory bases. There's so many positives and it's a lot to take in for a newcomer or novice. I'm still in the process of working out if minions should upvote themselves and my opinion changes a lot, but still don't do it myself..... yet. So, with so much info, how do I paint a clear easy to understand image for people? We think in pictures and I want to paint the fullest, brightest and most alluring picture I can. Not to selll this baby, or to boost it's profits, because neither of them ideas make sense here. Steemit is a growth factory for the natural skills offered and shared by it's community.

Please check this above link out :).

I want to paint this picture for people because I don't want them to miss out on something that I'm sure they'll want to be involved in at sometime in the future and I want as many people in here that are positive assets for the future of Steemit as possible. So, I have the Facebook problem and I have the Steemit promotional problem. In both cases, I don't want to miss something or someone out.

Oh my goodness, is that not the absolute cutest owl that you've ever seen? If it was out of context, it was still going in to this post. Adorable little fluffy thing.

Hmmmmm, just a minute, here. I went onto Facebook and I felt frustrated, tense and agitated, so I came onto here to try to find a solution to my problem and having been on here, creating this post, I have calmed down. Not a bit, not a lot, but completely. I am feeling happy. Simple, easy, no mither, just happy. I'll try to create a post that I can private message to people on Facebook and explain the positives to them as best I can.

That said, I do need help, of course, as I may have dealt with the Facebook issue, but I still have a post to create, regarding the simplifiction of all of the positive aspects, in one 'picture'.

If you have any ideas, please comment and all comments are read, appreciated and replied to. All of my posts are 100% original content (or picture linked/sourced directly, if used). 100% of all curator rewards will go to the curators of this post, because I don't upvote my own work and all rewards are powered up 100% for Steem Power. I'm here for the long haul, to learn, share and grow with you, and it's an absolute pleasure everybody. I genuinely mean that, from my heart, which I think with :)

Thank you for reading this and I hope it wasn't time wasted.

All the best.

I seldom use Facebook other than a quick messaging system. Any meaningful content seems to just get skimmed over. Few people care to take the time to read and respond or even like. Facebook is little more than a " Hi " in passing while steemit encourages some thoughtful dialogue. Life is Good here.

Hello @codypanama. Thanks for the comment. You're absolutely right about Facebook. There may be the odd folk on there who give things their deserved attention, but there is too much bickering and pointless politics going on in there for me. Misinformed preachers and their holier than thou flocks. Life does indeed seem very good in here and I took the liberty to check your wall out of course and discovered you like the odd game of poker :).

I used to play a regular live game almost every week, for 16 years on and off, but of recent years slowed down and after two large downswings, I decided to knock it on the head, but I had a look at the @spl site and have joined you for one of the freerolls. If this is the beginning o fthe slippery slope for me, then I will blame the circumstances that we met in, Sir :).

Good luck at the tables and thanks again, for the comment.

All the best.

I like the steem poker freerolls because they are fast and pay decently.
Here it's like a family and friends poker game, the larger sites take hours to come close to any money and donks are a dime a dozen.

That was a good game. You were so unlucky with the full house, as I was with the flush. Hands that play themselves ha, ha. I'm sure I'll see you in there again soon and well played. Fair players besides the one sat betwixt us.

I was with PokerStars for many years until their fairness adjustment logarithm took $1,000 from me one Christmas Evening. Good luck at the tables and I agree, it does seem like a good site for a nice little game :).

sign up for the Sunday 50 SBD, starts in less than 2 hrs :-)

Cheers, Cody. Reg not open yet, but will do when it is. Usually an hour before on most sites. Thanks for that. I can see that you are going to be a good... no, bad..... no, just 'an' influence on me ha, ha.

Good luck at the table and hopefully do a deal with you on a 50/50 split on final table (guessing that facility isn't in place yet), because I'll feel bad taking it all ha, ha, ha.

All the very best, mate.

Hi @arthur.grafo.

Yes, you're right, of course and in retrospect, I should have added the original artist to the credits. I was giving the source that I have used of the picture, but not of the original work, by the artist, but it would be more concise and accurate to add these details.

That said, my source was honest, Arthur. It was honsetly taken from that site, which I have given the link to. I have credited the source that I used and I guess, mistakenly, assumed that everybody would recognise it as an M.C. Escher picture. Maybe incorrect or inaccurate would be a less personal and more preferable terminology than dishonest? :)

That said, I get your point and will edit this, to add the reference. I hope you appreciate my humour, Sir :).

Thanks for the comment.

Hello Arthur. I appreciate tht I was not the intended target of your mild umbrage, Sir, and indeed, as a fellow pedant, I insist on your correcting me at every turn. In fact, I noticed a couple of glaring errors in my reply, so am about to correct them as well.

You guess wrongly, Sir. I am from the U.K. and my comments were typed in haste, which I apologise for and stand guilty of.

All the best Arthur and thanks for the input :).
