STEEMIT AWARENESS, A DAY OUT FOR FUN AND AWARENESS

Dear fellow steemians, it was a beautiful day today in Port Harcourt, Nigeria as me, @leghiano and @collinsu had a time out to create awareness on this beautiful platform. A big thank you to @ned and @dan/@dantheman for creating steemit. It’s a beautiful opportunity for us in Nigeria and the world at large.
Port Harcourt is the capital of Rivers state, located in Southern Nigeria. More about the city can be gotten from my earlier post on travelling around Nigeria here:

Today, we went to the Port Harcourt amusement part located along the Aba/ Port Harcourt expressway, close to Bori camp. After introducing steemit to people that visited the place, we decided to explore different locations of the 50km X 30km park. Join me as I take you to different beautiful sites on the park.
THE CENTER LAKE
Located on the center, is a beautiful lake that catches the attention of everyone coming into the environment. In it is some beautiful rubber boats that provide relaxation while a maximum of five people can enter one at a time. We spoke to the recreation instructor, Mr. Charles, on the maintenance of the lake in terms of hygiene. He explained that the lake has a purification channel and exit channel. According to him, water coming from surrounding get collected and purified before allowed to enter the lake, especially during this rainy season. The exit channel allows dirty water from the lake to flow to a reservoir and could be recycled back to the lake in dry season. Besides, for safety and hygienic purposes, no one is allowed to swim inside the lake without using the boats.

THE GALLERY/ EDIFICE
This is a mighty site of attraction, even from outside if you look at the park from the express way, but it’s more pronounced when viewed from inside. It has nice stares to get to the top, which is about 90ft high. You can sure catch a nice view of the whole city from up there.

SIT OUTS AND PASSAGES
There are some beautiful relaxation sites covered on top by traditional roofs, in form of huts. It’s not uncommon to find couples having their time together in each of such locations. The passages are beautifully lined with flowers of various types.

THE ART GALLERY AND RESTAURANT

Although these are the first structures to notice while entering the compound, we chose to go there last. Beautifully decorated with red and black chairs and white walls. Check it out.

THE GATE AND OUTSIDE DESIGNS
We captured some structures outside. The last is a round gallery, decorated with flowers. It is located between the flyover coming from East/West road and the Aba/ Port Harcourt expressway.
