@Steemvote Scam! Warning!
To my valued Followers and to anyone else who happens upon this humble post!
First, I don't want there to be any confusion. This post is about @steemvote, and not @steemvoter. @steemvoter offers a fantastic service and you get from them exactly what they promise you.
@steemvote, (the difference is the "r" at the end. the bad one that this post is about does NOT have an "r" at the end) however, is running a scam. At least I believe it to be a scam, and I challenge them to prove me wrong. It promises that for 1 Steem or SBD that you will get 25 upvotes worth from 4 to 30 cents each. The math says that for 1 SBD you get 25 votes that should value between $1.00 and $7.50. The key here is the MINIMUM of one dollar worth of upvotes. While I did receive some extra upvotes on my post, the value was only about 8 cents. Definitely not what I was promised. I am not complaining or "bitching because I didn't get enough rewards", I just want people to be aware that this account is not providing the service that it has claimed it would.
I use upvote services to increase the visibility of my posts, not as a money machine, and I don't see the harm in trying new services. I did not seek out this service from steemvote, they spammed me. First by sending me 0.001 SBD with a memo
and then later in a comment on one of my posts.
I haven't received a reply from them to my question yet. I am still waiting, but I have checked out their blog, and they seem to just tell people "If you don't like the service, then just don't use it"
this was a reply he gave to someone else. I still haven't received one. This user had the same problem as me, the votes were there, but not the promised value of the votes.
Again, I am not complaining that I didn't receive enough rewards or that I am entitled to a higher payout, I just want to let other people know that this user is taking advantage of others here on the platform and not giving what he promised to give. Please help me let other people avoid paying this scammer and losing out on the valuable SBD that they earned by Resteeming this post to as many people as possible. I want everyone to succeed here on the platform, but not by taking advantage of others.
Fully agree. I got 7 cents in return to my 1SBD sent. Never again ! Vote buyers beware.
Yeah, definitely not a fair return on investment, to be sure! Thanks for the support!
So glad I just ignored that memo that they sent me...it just had bad vibes to it from the start, lol. Thank you for telling us this and proving my intuition correct.
Not a problem. Just trying to do my small part in making Steemit a great place for everyone! If I help just one person to NOT get scammed by this account, then my effort (and the SBD I spent) was worth it!
This is an eye opener to people like me, innocent minnows alike thank you @gogogadgetupvote....keep up the good work.
Glad that I could be of help. Always be aware of who and where you are sending your crypto to anyone. I should have done a little more research into the account before I sent my funds, and that was my mistake, costing me 1 SBD. I just hope that others can learn from my lesson and avoid the scam.
He deceived me too. to be ashamed :)
Definitely. There are plenty of rewards for everyone on the platform to be had. It's just sad some people aren't willing to take the effort to EARN their own rewards and would rather put more effort into scamming people. If they put the same amount of effort into creating a decent blog with content people might be interested in, they would probably do better than this scammy crap. But some people just want to take the "easy" way.
As I did last month with a $2 resteem service, and as you have here, just call them out with numbers and raise awareness.
The replies I go on my post show that no-one is interested in these services. I've started flagging steemvote with a small %, each time they appear in my comments as i have asked them to stop repeatedly.
Nice one Gadget!
Thanks. It's all of our jobs to protect this awesome platform we have here. I am just doing what I can! That's basically what I did, call them out with numbers. I think I will just have to do the same and cast small downvotes on them when I happen upon them!
I know of others doing the same.
Maybe ping their wallet each day for 0.001 with a long message warning users?
Every user should perform a quick wallet check before sending funds.
That isn't a bad idea, pinging them with a memo to warn other users. And yes, wallet checks are a valuable, often overlooked tool. You can learn a lot about an account from its wallet history, lol.
Ain't that the truth! 😁
What a difference one little "r" can make. People really need to go through these "deals" with a fine tooth comb" and a big magnification zoom.
Thanks for the information,
@sultnpapper
It is a HUGE difference in a place like this. No problem on sharing the info. I try to help.
I have just resteemed this post. Thanks for writing it! Cheers!
