Mans best friend "A few facts"

Just wanted to start by saying thank you to my followers and the steemit community.

Dogs are man's best friend because of a few reasons but the best two reasons are they are loyal and always there for you unlike some humans I know.

Dogs can be a great part of your family and life if you treat them well and with love they will do the same in return. They say dog owners live a longer and happier life than those that don't own a dog. So if you want to live longer buy a dog.

The average dog lives between the ages of 10 through 14 years old this is not saying all dogs will make it to 10 but most of them will. I have a buddy that has a Labrador that is 21 years old this year it's barely moving around but it is still living and breathing.

Puppies can grow to half of their body weight in the first 5 months and they can also sleep up to 20 hours a day.
Puppies also love playing games like fetch chasing their tail and hide and go seek. Tired puppies can be very cranky so when you see your dog acting like this try giving them a nap. Puppies have 28 teeth and are born blind, deaf and have no teeth at Birth.

Dogs can smell better than a human by 11 thousand to 100 thousand times, and also dogs can smell different types of cancers and diseases in the human body can you do that I dont think so.

Man's Best Friend sweats through their pads on their feet and even marks their scent through their pads even after going to the bathroom by kicking up dirt with their feet.

They say there is over 700 dog reeds but I never seen 7 hundred maybe a hundred fifty different breeds. There are more than 13,500 animal shelters in the United States of America and over 390 million dogs on the planet Earth.

The tallest breed is the Irish Wolfhounds they can be up to 36 inches tall and weighing over a hundred and fifty pounds. The smallest breed is the Chihuahua around 6 to 7 inches and 5 to 8 lb.

Heaviest recorded Newfoundland was 260 lb and 6ft long. They also have a waterproof coat and webbed feet. They were bred to rescue people from drowning and to help out the local fishermen with his pots. I had a Newfoundland a few years ago and I took him fishing and every time I went fishing he would swim across the river and lay on the other side of the riverbank until I left then he would swim back.

Dogs can see in the dark yes the dark all because of the membrane called the tapetum lucidum. They also have three eyelids and they are not color blind. Dogs can see colors in shades of blue, yellow and green also white and gray just not Reds.

In the REM stage of sleep dogs do have dreams just like humans do, this is why you can see them running in their sleep and making noises from their mouth.

Humans carry and baby for 9 months before giving birth dogs only carry a puppy 9 weeks before birth.

The Labrador retriever is the most popular dog breed out selling any other breed.

There is 10 different groups of dogs from the sporting group to the hound group to the working group all the ways to the toy group each group has its own differences and purposes.

Adult dogs have 42 teeth and have a better sense of taste than a cat, cats have about 470 taste buds and dogs have up to 1700 taste buds.

The Alaskan Malamute can live in temperatures as low as 72 degrees below zero and are my favorite breed.

I want to keep this short so just a little more of your time. Dogs can and will be attacked by wolves and bears even though they are descendants of the Wolf. Also they curl up in a ball to stay warm in to protect their organs and to fill protected.

In the Holy Bible dogs are talked about over 30 times just to let you know. They are mentioned more than any other animal and that's because dogs are man's best friend.
