Can steemit compete with big time content houses? (Discussion Topic)

in #steemit8 years ago (edited)

While youtube, soundcloud, imgur, and reddit provide unique ways to connect with markets, they do not bridge the gap of linking their platforms to create a one-stop shop for content creation and direct marketing. So does steemit have the technological and marketing tools to bridge that gap and create a base of operations for creative content providers?

*I'll define content houses as a database that interacts with networks to provide date management and acquisition for content providers.

Good Question

IMO, should this work out the way the founders expect, the platform will become a content king, regardless of the other players.

I see this place changing rapidly over the next few months and then some serious long term changes in the next year or so. Going to be fascinating, no matter the end result. :)

This is too complex for me to answer succinctly.

Then ramble on--it's open for interpretation and points can be layered on if the discussion warrants a hashing out of details. We can even contain points into subsets of the overall argument.

All a matter of funding. If steem creates a big suck and the big content houses react, then they'll likely launch their own versions on the "content4pay " concept. The key is community mindset and not necessarily growth/adoption stats.
