Why hasn't Steemit replaced FB?

It seems to me that it was about time FB was replaced by Steemit. FB is basically a security company that takes peoples data and sells it to the highest bidder. Now with the FB security camera coming out with the mic always on and rotating camera, I hope more people join here. At Steemit, content producers are at least paid for their content that starts trending or has high interactions. Why haven't more people made the jump?
