SteemVoter, A Tool You Should Add to Your Steemit Arsenal

in #steemit8 years ago

What’s cool about the Steemit platform is the open-source model. Anyone can contribute to making Steem better and many thankfully do.

In fact, steem tools is a great website for checking out and learning about cool Steemit tools.

One tool I really like is called SteemVoter.

It’s basically a voting bot that set up to vote on behalf of your account.

With a free account you can set up 50 ‘rules.’ Each rule tells the bot which author to vote for, when, and at what percentage.

For 3 SBD per month you can get up to 500 rules.

This is a great way to support your favorite authors and not have to worry about being online.

Further, it’s a great way to maximize your voting power. Sure you don’t want to go to zero. But at the same time, if you’re always at 100 you’re wasting your voting asset.

I’m playing around with the rules so that my voting power is in the 60% range. Then that gives me enough voting power to do some votes on my own as well.

What’s your thoughts? Are you using a voting bot?

One big thing they need to fix is the backend support for SteemIt, I have emailed half a dozen times, the steemit chat is a waste of time. Very disappointed with how the customer support end is handled.

Yea customer service is generally a pain in the butt. Hopefully some in the community can be 'liasons' and help other users.

Yeah the issue is they have done that, basically letting a few idiots "police themselves" into a power position and its horrible in the chat for support.

I voted up because this is intriguing-but it seems kind against the point of Steemit in some ways. How can you build your reputation on a mechanical bot? Fascinating but has some conflict also...LIFE!

You done just build from voting on posts! You build from all sorts of things that you wouldn't of thought about! Such as interaction on peoples posts! Interaction with higher reputation! Comments! Loads of stuff! Hope this helps!

Yea it's unlimited what could be done.

You bring up a good point. That's why I'm doing both. And it's only authors I know from manually upvoting their votes in the past. Welcome to the world of bots.

There is nothing wrong with voting your own posts! But what the new users need to take into account is there voting power! like me I will only vote my own post where the audience is greater so my posts will jump to the top and then it will get more votes based on attraction! Bots are here of there, i set my steem voter up but not even used it yet as I am happy doing it manually! But I can see a benefit that if I go on holiday for a few weeks then I will turn my voter on! I may try the voter next week see how it roles out!

Thanks for the advice! I will check it out :)

You got it!

Yeah, nah.. This bot thing is only good if you go on vacation from Steemit for a while and want to keep up your voting power.
