Steemit plugin for wordpress

There are over 75 million wordpress sites out there, and all you need to do is to write a plugin so that wordpress-publishers automatically post their latest content to Steemit.

If you charge a dollar for your plugin and only 1 % of the wordpress-blogs start using it, you are making $750K.

Someone is going to write this plugin, and if you have the skills - drop everything you have and start working on it right now before someone else beat you to it.

There currently is over 45,000 plugins for Wordpress - And if you ever wanted to strike it rich with a killer-app, now is your time to shine - thank me later!

a year + later and still no one has done this, we really need it too, we will need all of wordpress to come onbaord OH WAIT we can just have a wordpress smart media token problem solved BOOM

Someond already brought that topic in the early days of Steem and so far no one with the needed skills wanted to it.

·

Well, it is about time it is being brought up again - I´m sure there are more people reading steemit today then it was in the early days when nobody knew what steemit was.

Help me bring the message out, and developers will come.

lol yeah its like someone saying "hey lets create a spaceship to land on the moon!" "Oh sorry bro someone already brought that topic up, and noone could do it man"

im glad your comment got $37 thats crazy! thats over half of what you madde off this article!

There is a huge barrier to entry in terms of technical skills to do this but it's definitely a plugin that people would buy if they knew they could monetize their blog that way. It would be epic

·

epic indeed - my wordpress is already autoposting my content to all my social medias, except steemit - It should be very very high up on the priority-list to get a kick ass steemit-plugin for wordpress.

so much work is already on the table. Private messaging, private money transfer, notifications, walkthrought tutorial and so forth. Wait 6 months to a year to see this happen.

Just help me spread this post, and we´ll have a steemit-plugin for wordpress in no time. Nothing is hard.

·
·

I think you could use RSS + @xeroc's streemian to post your WP content to Steem .

·

The technical skills required are not that extreme. It's just that there is no developer which know the Steem's API and the WP one. The best would be to find an insider not too bad in PHP willing to learn WP and to write this plugin than trying to teach a WP dev the Steem API.

The WP Documentation is known to many developers, and Steem´s API should not be a problem for any low-mid skilled developer to understand if it is documented correctly.

Once a developer see this post and understand how much money he can make - trust me, he´ll start making it ;)

Money is Power.

You hit the point pretty much, there is no documentation of the API. It is only known to guys coming from BTS or insiders, but yes in itself the API is not that hard.

Why is this so hard to do? I've seen people mention the barrier to entry, but guess I don't understand it well enough to see why it's such a huge problem.

·

I am 100 % sure it is not hard to do. It is all API-Calls, and steemit has an API in the back there that can receive and post information already, it is just connecting the dots, so lets create some buzz around this so that developers actually see this.

Developers are usually not willing to take risk. If you believe in the idea, put your money behind it and pay a developer for it up front. Many software consultants will happily take your money. They do not care if you get rich and they don't. They got their money, they got their jackpot and are happy with that.

We need the API's , firstly

I was actually looking at doing just this earlier today.

That being said, I need to spend a bit more time researching it as there does not appear to be any public api available for steemit, authenticated or otherwise. I could be wrong, so if you know where the api endpoint is, please let me know.

From what I could see, it looks like I'd have to grab a copy of steem source, upload it to my own server, create an authentication mechanism for users of the system, expose the rpc calls that I want to use via an api, and then write a plugin to take interface the api that I expose.

Anywise, I'm still looking at it, but with my limited free time I'm not certain that I've the available time to tackle all of that currently.

If there is a publicly available steemit api that I'm missing, please point me in the right direction and I'll start development asap ;)

Quick update: I've created a bridge plugin for wordpress that lets people showcase their steemit.com content on their wordpress site until such time as we get a public api or someone puts serious effort into doing what you note. See here: https://steemit.com/wordpress/@tony.jennings/show-your-steemit-posts-on-your-wordpress-site

This is now a reality. You can now publish your WordPress posts to Steem blockchain for free with this plugin. https://steemit.com/steemdev/@recrypto/wordpress-steem-1-0-0-beta

Would love to know if anybody has created the plugin yet?

only posting migration facility shall not be enough for the next plugin.
It must compete its prior plugins at first. So auto posting to other social medias (FB, twitter, G+) will be a great option for its publicity.
