[steem.li] Ranking Posts by the Reputation Score

in #steemit8 years ago

How would the Steemit feed look like, if it wasn't ranked by the payout?
What if we used voters reputation instead?

The reputation score is simply a sum of all the reputation scores of the voters. To prevent abuse, only users with reputation score of 40 or more are counted, and they must have voted with at least 80% upvote.

I think that ranking by reputation score is more democratic. After all, any good citizen of Steemland can earn reputation, but not many people have extra 2 million dollars lying around, waiting to be powered up.

Thank you for following me on Steemit :)

Sort:

With this sorting method, are you using the reputation score as shown next to one's name? Or are you using the underlying number, before the log function is applied?

If you're doing the former, it gives a huge advantage to lower reputation scores, and if you're doing the latter, it more accurately represents the real reputation score.

From what I understand, the reputation scores are on a log base ten system. Which means a reputation score of 30 is 10x better than 20, 40 is 10x better than 30, 50 is 10x better than 40, and so on.

Yup, I use the (log10(rep)-9)*9 + 25 formula - same as the score shown next to the name.

Awesome idea, perfect execution! Congratz!

Thank you :)

It certainly should have its own sort option

The posts are sorted by reputation score. How would you like them sorted?

That's what I was saying have trending and trending by reputation

A truly excellent idea to view content in a perspective more rational than "TRENDING""

Like it! All I need to do now is write enough posts to feature... :-)

Awesome idea. Thanks for building it.

Beautiful idea!

@furion

the option seems great . After the beta version is over I hope to see a mutual integration
