Will we be laughing to our present Steemit posts in 5 years from now? The Universe Decentralized! #promote-steem

in #steemit7 years ago

When I read my 2008 Facebook posts they make me laugh every single time.

It was like we were exploring some new planet with posting every minute, trying to figure out how it works and will that status stay there if it was something "rude". Now, 8 years after that, I'm on a new network that has a huge potential, much greater than Facebook had in early days.

It's actually not comparable at all. Next-gen of social media plus the blockchain. That's Steemit. Vast Universe of opportunities when you think about it with more attention. Every school will be able to have their own decentralized app based on Steem, Steemit and related currencies. Every village in Africa, Asia, South America with 1 skilled developer will be able to create an economy of their own, not depending on governmental decisions and legislations, actions of ministers and other centralized figures that are placed in a leather seat they earned through the system called voting.

Not attacking democracy, but the results of alleged "democratic value" of appreciation of everyone's voice. Where are those voices when the crisis starts? Btw. What happens with emptied voting boxes, do they just burn those papers sending them to junkyard? I don't think they collect voices, why would they need them? This is exactly how mainstream social media works. It gives you a false sense of importance, milking your "votes" in a form of ads and sharing your info with them getting nothing in return unless you are one of those paying huge amounts for advertising.

No, Steemians, we will not laugh to our posts in 5 years from now. Not in a way of thinking of them as childish. We will laugh of joy and be proud of them. Like the 2016 users are proud. Because when Facebook started, it started as a Harward students joke. Looking at Steemit it is constantly developing. And not only Steemit platform but a ton load of Steem-based projects out there. Open-source is an opportunity not to be missed. And if you can get paid for your contribution, why not take the chance? I'm planning on learning programming the project I have in mind myself, with some assistance since my lack of knowledge. I hope that these posts we are writting will be hitting the mainstream search engines as soon as possible.

Userbase coming from the mainstream proved to be the most generic and the most valuable to my websites in the past, since they were not lured by the advertising pop-up windows and... using "Josh likes Steemit - Earn money, Post" smells like a cliche and a typical ad I remove once it pops-up. It will attract a userbase of hit-and-run people, and internet is full of them.

Yet, "Steemit - Fastest Growing Social Media" would sound perfect - because this will be target-hitting advertising more developers and smart userbase. Once they discover the potential of this open-source, the rest is history. Marketing and members will follow up easily.

I just made this example, apologize if it's copyrighted, I'll pay the fines after mainstream. Share it on the web! #promote-steem
