Steemit.Chat is Back Online! (23 June, 2017 Update)
We're back online from the past few hours. I would like to thank @riverhead for all his contribution and service to the community in keeping the lights on at Steemit.Chat. With over 13K active members and hundreds signing up regularly, it's no easy to task to keep the chat going. We're on a new server today.
Without his constant support and technical know-how there wouldn't have been Steemit chat. Many incredible things that have resulted on Steemit from the use of this communications platform which connects various Steemit users directly with one another and James constantly keeping an eye on the server ensuring it's business as usual while I manage the user administration along with a bunch of incredible people to help us out!

Not this is not ssl certified yet and may need to get reset but it'll scratch the itch haha. Once the DNS updates I can get us back to happy htps and steemit dot chat domain.
We still have some work pending and I request the community to remain patient as Riverhead gets it back up and running! You will be able to use the platform to it's fullest potential without any hickups soon enough!
We have hundreds of public and private channels, totalling over a thousand. I would also be initiating a clean up in the days to come as we've got some clutter that needs attention.
But over the past 10 months over 5,806,198 messages have been sent using this platform. It may not be as slick as 'Slack' but it has worked great over the past year and helped thousands of members network with one another.
Various curation guilds, trails, user engagement and retention initiatives, including the abuse fighting team @steemcleaners continue to use Steemit.Chat as a base of operations and help take Steemit.com to the next level.
I invite you to use Steemit.Chat and I'm sure you'll make some great friends along the way!
It's been a long journey from where we began and we've got a long way to go.

yohoo that is such a good news man! I get used to open steemit once I back office, it is such a good way to dircetly communicate with all of you, no matter just chatting around or asking for help in the #help. People here are kind and funny! Happy so see steemit chat back and thank you for the update! Steem on!
I just joined the discord chat for #minnowsupport a couple of days ago, and there I found out that steemit.chat is no longer working. I want to thank you @firepower for the update and hard work on this :)
Can't wait to get home, and spend my weekend getting to know you guys better, and join the community even more. Heads up: expect some more content from me over the weekend! See you soon.
