RE: How machine integration into man will make more misery?

Solid Sci-fi. I have many things to say.. first of all your work brings into my mind so many collateral ideas, which is a quality of good stuff usually. I liked a lot the deus ex machina coming from the role of the unconscious. You put a lot of narrative elements, like the outlaws' communities, that maybe are a bit too stretched in such a small space. But very good ideas overall. If all this dystopia, in the end, was an experiment gone too far, how did Lucien became a grey employee like many others when originally he was one of the two master programmers? Maybe this is just another episode..

Sort:

I based this ..um episode on the idea that mind controlled dystopia wouldn't be so much as planting new thoughts and memories but, chemically controlling moods. Every person would be helplessly anxious at the start of their day and hopelessly satisfied at the end to ever think. This is what we want in society even right now: to be duped into infinite happiness. Lucien had to be an adopter of the tech for the appeal of safety for early adopters and mainly to beta test the tech. Maybe the whole political make of it could be a prequel to this one. Thanks for your valuable feedback.

I said episode as I think it could be further developed. My point on the "Entertainment" recognised as a human right was going exactly in the direction you highlighted. Well done.. and you're welcome!
