Instead of powering down, whales could support the wisdom of the crowd to distribute more Steempower.
@thecryptodrive for example created the @steemsports idea so whales could vote and they distribute SP, that way. I hope more whales will see @steemsports as a way to distribute wealth to the people and create employment for writers and editors. Others like @bola with "Guess how many" or @nanzo-scoop try to do something similar.
People get more and more Steempower, so Steemit would be better balanced in no time.

I agree the @steemsports concept is a simple but brilliant way to distribute and balance STEEM imbalance.

Anyone else worried about the price of Steem?
Surely the price will not fall below zero! But if the MCap of Steem sinks unter a critial value, it could be that this portal must be shut down due to a lack of financial ressources.
financial ressources for what, exactly ?
employees. hosting costs. programming costs. internet link. infrastructure in general.
Please don't forget it's a decentralised approach;
A big chunk of the underlying infrastrucutre is run and paid for by the witnesses / users.
Innovations come from the userbase.
So does marketing and promotion.
I don't know, but I would expect the costs of Steemit.com to not be too high.
I am , but i guess i accept it that it we still dont reach the bottom....
It's a very good idea, which now needs the top whales actions to help.
