Bitcoin is soaring to a new all time high ( 1464$ ) and all Altcoins are down.
Looks like the sign-up problem of Steemit is still not solved...
... and Gnosis is now for trade on Poloniex after its Record ICO which where sold out in a bit over 10 minutes...
and from today on May 2, 2017, the following coins will be delisted from Poloniex: BBR, BITS, C2, CURE, HZ, IOC, MYR, NOBL, NSR, QBK, QORA, QTL, RBY, SDC, UNITY, VOX, XMG
Thats it so far from me today.... and don't forget to buy some Steem today of course :)

If your friend wanted to join Steemit would you front them the necessary Steem and delegated Steem Power for an account?
What is the real problem here? that steemit don't have steem power available? Still don't get it why they didn't solve the problem so far, look at the daily unique visitors and Page views, only climbing the last days, thats a very good sign.
My guess is that it's more that with increased demand comes increased demand for sockpuppet accounts. Steemit wants to give you an account if you're a new user, they don't want to give your 10th-1000th account AND be the one who pays for it.
On the other hand many people aren't able to get an account because they aren't meeting the verification requirements for Steemit. It might alleviate some problems if people would sign their friends up at a cost to themselves (perhaps being paid or paid back eventually).
Steemit now delegates account creation fee which is returned when the user earn that amount of SP himself, so it doesn't cost anything to steemit inc anymore.
That's not as costly as before but it's not free. Firstly they still have a fee, 1 steem per account right now. But also they have to dedicate that amount of Steem to each account. Most will take a long time if ever for the Steem to be returned.
Understood, but how they gonna solve that problem? Guess it is a bit difficult to find out if the new account is really for a new user or it is a second account..... What if Steemit say if a second account is detected it will be deleted and all funds get back to them? ( No idea if this is possible to do )
The solution I'm suggesting is that people front the Steem for their friends. That way Steemit doesn't have to verify you, because it's not their Steem being spent. You should know whether or not your friend already has a Steemit account.
Ok, thats one solution, but what if someone just get on Steemit and don't have a friend which is on Steemit? Or why they just don't stop to give free Steem away?
I'm not saying Steemit should stop signing up new people. But it would reduce the workload on Steemit Inc if sign ups were more decentralized. Thus Steemit Inc would have more time to help those people sign up.
It will always cost some Steem in order to create an account. Otherwise a single bot account could create and squat every conceivable account for very little cost.

Yeah the sign-up stuff is a real problem....
Steemit needs 100x more users.
