I agree with you, but it is the fact of the online presence as a whole!

For example; If you are a company and you want to appear to many users, you will pay for some ADs, including Google AdWords, Facebook Campaigns, ... etc.

So, the one who has money always make more money, but still, the few people/companies who are competing with their quality, creativity and have a good marketing strategy for themselves would eventually success even if they don't spend as much as big companies do.

Conclusion: It is just the beginning of a new social media era, in a website like Quora, Reddit, ... etc. People are appreciating each other by upvoting their answers, now we can upvote each other's answers, and send some bucks to show them that we appreciate what they've written so far!

I am sure that we will see new social media websites like Steemit, but maybe for Singers, Writers, Painters, ... etc.
