Ten years have passed since the first film and 18 stories lived since then, before Infinity war arrived. During those previous stories the paths of each one of our heroes were a bit linked, developed or even omitted and in the movie starts the presentation of one single character, Thanos (Josh Brolin). The prologue give us the first onslaught when we see a purple gigantic villain, without any charisma, smash the invincible Hulk (Mark Rufallo) with just a few punches, kill all the asgardians and living us without one of the most beloved antagonists inside Marvel universe; in the first five minutes we see how Loki die strangled, before the ayes of Thor, like he’s never given a fight to the Avengers in the past. Nobody breathes in the room, everybody opens their eyes a little more to watch a bit better and shut their mouths to understand (before the two and a half hours of the movie passed) that Thanos didn’t came to win the love of death like in the comics, here he embodies it. Without doing it on purpose, those who saw the film knew in that very instant that Thanos came to smash the models that enclose the superheroe movies, full of clichés and predictable ends. We understand that beat The Hulk with just an infinite gem in his hand was necessary to know that the worst was yet to come.

After this the story begins quickly; we see different plots, dozens of characters and multiple scenarios in which develops every storyline, this seemed too much to some people. Stephen Mcfeel, scriptwriter of the famous movie saga The Chronicles of Narnia and all the Captain America films, brings to us, joined with Christopher Markus a entertaining script, but a little bit complex that brings more battles than development. The script doesn’t seem to have time to stop in details, and that’s one of the breaks of the story. Lots of action plus not much substance in occasions. Many characters, one single villain.

We were open-mouthed with Thanos entrance, but the rhythm of Infinity War doesn’t give much time for taste what happens. It goes from the tragic end of the asgardians to Earth, where everyone seems to be in harmony: Tony Stark (Robert Downey jr) discuss the details of his weddin with his girlfriend Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow). Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) are enjoying their loving relationship. The Guardians of the Galaxy travel along the space and Dr Strange (Benedict Cumberbach) with Wong (Benedict Wong) appears to stay good inside the temple Sancta Sanctorum when they receive Bruce Banner (Hulk) with the terrible news that Thanos is coming to Earth looking for the infinite gems.

Dr. Strange doesn’t take too much time looking for Iron Man, and Spiderman (Tom Holland) joins immediately to this team to stop Thanos supporters. This followers get to New York seeking the gems of Vision and Dr Strange. Right away the movie shows that it doesn’t have much time for developing the story of every character and every plot, (as well as the ones in Earth and the ones in space) letting the audience get a bit confuse. The movie falls in more and more extraordinary fights, fast sequences to exhibit the visual show CGI that brought to us this film, and good jokes to smooth the adrenaline levels that the spectators are expose from the beginning to the end. More gags and action than drama.
Also, the script gives a wonderful development of Thanos, humanized before his tragic story on Titan, his relationship with Gamora (Zoe Saldana) and the sacrifice that represents the love he feels for her; but he forgets to delve into the motivations of the Black Order and the followers of the antagonist, who maintains the majority of the plot weight with a purpose based on brief references to his past. Thanos, the less charismatic villain of the Universe but with a more human character than any antagonist, sustains the story from beginning to end. But that's when time plays badly and Thanos's past is summarized in a few flashbacks to explain his goal of reducing the life of the universe in half.

History takes us back to Earth, where Captain America (Chris Evans) and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) have elaborate appearances to help Vision and Wanda, attacked by the Black Order, to the various plots of space. There, the Guardians of the Galaxy accompanied by Thor (Chris Hemsworth) separate to try to stop Thanos; while Iron Man, Dr Strange and Spiderman are involved in a series of events that take them to Titan to fight the threatening villain. Many characters and stories leads to confusion in the timelines and leaves the film half way to be epic and it is because we enjoy all the characters in the universe, but each one very little and a clear example is the role of Black Panther or Vision's fragility in the story.

And definitely, this delivery fails to honor its name (Avengers) when half the team, led by Captain America, holds a small appearance in the long duration of the film and also never get to see the original team together. We see some characters shortly and they are exhausted by the climax of Captain America: Civil war; an epic battle for which there is no time to stop, there is no time for the dramas of reunion nor for the wounds that were left open in previous films among their protagonists.

On the other hand, the soundtrack of the hand of Alan Silvestri (Back to the Future, Predator and Ready Player One) is a burning auditory experience. It is a primordial part of the experience and the ecstasy in which he submerges the tape. The musicalization next to the sound edition supports the holes of the plot and supports the more than 12 battles that are executed in the plot with excellent special effects and animations. It is one of the reasons why the viewer stays with the heart in hand from beginning to end, the music is definitely the final push to despair when the film ends tragically, the credits end and everyone is still silent, waiting for something more. The emotion leaves no room for criticism and that is why thousands have come to see Infinity War several times, because it's a work that must be seen with several eyes.
Many claim that the Russo brothers broke schemes; others were dissatisfied with the outcome of the film and the theories fly through the heavens. Many died and the mistake of Marvel seems to have been to confirm the sequels of characters that became dust in our noses. But wait, it's Marvel, they're super heroes and it's Disney, you have to remember that this is a story divided into two parts. Between the polemic, the emotion, the theories and the critic we forget how the film scripts are made up. We have seen a whole movie with its script structure that fulfills its three acts and intact turning points, but we are halfway through the story, the real climax will come in The Avengers 4, also directed by the Russo brothers, and the real outcome it's for 2019.

Recall that we did not see our team of The Avengers together in this film, but half of the cast has died and it's no coincidence that the original Avengers were alive. Nor is it coincidence that the entrants in the cinematographic universe have disappeared. Marvel seems to experiment with the audience, has remembered that the key of The Avengers is the formula that represent the same characters and might see the original group gathered in the next installment to fight Thanos, save those who the gem of the soul took and possibly give way to a new generation, Ultimate Avengers.
With Avengers 4, several pending sequels and a series of 'spin-offs' there are many things to see in the future. For now we take the experience of Infinity war in our memory, understanding that it is difficult to enclose all the characters of our comics in the same movie but it's possible, and its initial phase was Civil War. We understand that Marvel has not spent his ability to tell stories and break paradigms. We understand that it is not the best appearance of The Avengers on a tape but it's the best Marvel movie. In the end, the protagonist is Thanos, owner of the universe and infinity in the palm of his hand. We understand that we have to learn to lose and that it hurts us, both adults and children, to see how they destroy your life's superheroes one after the other. And that's when we all join together, hurt to see that the characters with superpowers also have weaknesses, emotions that betray and can also die. It hurts to see the credits knowing that the good guys lost but with the happiness of having lived this fragment of history called Infinity War, knowing that half already died ... the rest is for 2019.
