Happy Xmas-Eve Eve,

On the night of celebration I start to think of what I learned over the past year and what experiences I wish to share with everyone. As many have read my work on #steemit the photos I am sharing are a continued adventure of meeting my ancestral family and in the process outlining my book.

My last trip took us through the Anasazi Heritage Center in the Canyon of the Ancients and this is yet another look see at an area known as Sand Canyon Pueblo. The hike itself was not too far in but the majority of the Pueblo was gone and essentially dismantled and in pieces.

There was an indescribable feeling of rape and loss, as if something had been ripped away from me. There are pieces of this Pueblo scattered in many locations but all I could feel was heart break. Due to the damage done to the original structures there were not a lot of photos to take except for some shots of the landscape.

According to the map there was a huge kiva approximately 10 miles in and I was not prepared to make that trip by foot. Something to see for another day and look forward to. Sometimes that happens and I go with it.

What I learned was that even though there is a deep sense of loss over what was, it is always important for me to walk my ancestral lands and make peace. Forgiveness is so important and singing my song to the Universe will help those after me. This is a very important step and one I chose to take, this is a cause for celebration.

My celebration this Xmas-Eve Eve is to thank my Steemit family for reading, listening, and watching my story. You have been there for me and I send my love, joy, and peace to you all.
