Again, the case of delivering inappropriate bodies. This time it happened in Bulukumba, South Sulawesi. Because the people of Bulukumba were prohibited from borrowing Ambulances by the Puskesmas, the body of the late Mappi was forced to wear a sarong. By using a large bamboo with a sarong cloth, Mappi's body was carried by residents as far as 5 kilometers to the funeral home.
Mappi, a resident of Bongoro, Laikang Subdistrict, Kajang District, Bulukumba District, breathed his last breath at the local health center on Thursday, August 24, right at 2 am. When Mappi's body was about to be taken home, the people who accompanied it took the initiative to borrow an ambulance belonging to the Puskesmas, because there was only that car parked on the yard. The hospital does not provide hearses.

The funny thing is when they have expressed their intentions, the puskesmas does not allow the ambulance to be used to deliver Mappi's body. They argued that Puskesmas did not provide cars between bodies, their ambulances were specifically used only to take sick people or people who had accidents and emergency situations.

Because there is no other choice, the body is forced to be carried with a sarong. With a bamboo cap and a piece of used sarong. Mappi's body was paraded by residents through the darkness of the night, at first glance people saw it as if the people were carrying the game from the forest.

Responding to the polemic of the bodies of people who are being stretched using this sarong. Sitti Hayanti Madjid as the Head of the Kajang Health Center confirmed that the incident took place at the location of the puskesmas she headed. Sitti justifies his employees' actions if they do not allow their ambulances to be borrowed to deliver Mappi's body.

This is because it is based on regulations that have been established by the local government. Because the allocation of ambulances can only be used to deliver or pick up patients while to deliver a corpse using a hearse only.

Coincidentally, at our Puskesmas we did not provide hearses, so we could not do much even though there was a sense of pity to see the people carrying the bodies of their own families, because as subordinates we only applied the rules from above, please understand Sitti Hayanti.
