You raise a lot of very important points. I agree that people should only be liking, voting, commenting on things they like. It helps to make Steemit more authentic. I've only been here a week and I've seen things that you mention. I also think there are Steemit accounts that swoop in anytime they see a newbie on the platform, promising to help or taking actions that I really just don't get. (like, the first post I ever wrote, some bot with a -1 reputation score came and downvoted my post -- why would that possibly happen?) Some of these accounts have "steem" in the user name, and so you might assume that they are somehow official (if that makes sense, given that Steemit is a self-policing platform).
