How do you write your blogs?

I find myself wondering how everyone writes their posts. Do you use the editor inside of Steemit? Straight into Steemit as Markdwon? One of the many tools available online to write in Markdown with a preview?

I personally have found myself using a syntax highlighting text editor like Sublime, or previously Code Writer (a Windows Universal app) to get the speed of a text editor, and the easily tracked formatting of a hightlighting editor.

So what does this look like?

Let's start with a note about one of the simple, yet powerful, ways that this helps with my creating consistent and quality posts. I can keep a collection of commonly used sections available for re-use.

This is the current post you are reading, up to this point, at least. I am going to create the screenshot at this part of the process in writing so you can see the various elements being highlighted in the text. You can see things like the 'center' and 'sub' tags that are highlighted, as well as the headings, horizontal rules, and links/images.

Pretty powerful, no?

Of course, this isn't for everyone. I love it though. It lets me see everything at a glance, where I am writing. I don't have to wait for a page to update, scroll down to the preview version on Steemit.com, or try and trust a third-party editor to show it correctly.

I do end up fine-tuning stuff when I place it in the editor on Steemit, but usually only because I underestimate the many ways Steemit can mess up my plans.

So, what do you use?

I find myself flipping back and forth between both haha. I'm a bit OCD and like to format as I go.

I have been known to do this if I have a tricky formatting problem crop up.

I've got a similar setup in GoogleDrive to help keep common elements in order. So many strategies to play with, but I think the important tip is to just strategize and make your life easier. I could see a variety of template files being offered to users taking into account their specific goals as creators (artist, political commentator, crypto analyst, etc.)

You know, I hadn't even thought about actually intentionally offering people some copy/paste ready templates for footers/headers for their posts. Could be a market for that I bet.

Of course there's a market for that...there's a market for Crocs and Snuggies ;)

Of course, what was I thinking.

Might have to get on that.

Let me know if I can support...'twas mostly your idea ;)

Hey I live in Orem! Its nice to know more people in utah care about the crypto space!

Oh noes! Happy Valley has crypto people? Who would have thunk-it...

Still, nice to hear there are some more along the Wasatch who are with us.

Notepad++ is great for writing posts. Its one of my favorite pieces of software.

I found that even with the added syntax highlighting I couldn't find a comfortable color scheme for the actual editor. I like darker UI's for my software.

I enjoy the regular interface colour for it. :)

I just use the internal editor haha but it can be frustrating, gonna check out Sublime.

I just noticed that Sublime is technically evaluation license software. You might also like Visual Studio Code, I think it even has a live preview of the finished code, split screen style.

Perfect! Thanks :)

I used Steemit editor until this point, but this seems to be a great tool!

I just use the markdown editor, but it seems like I must get onto bigger and better things eh!!! I have often thought about how to get onto a different more efficient writing program, would you recommend sublime or code writer to a a fella starting out to learn different ways like me willing to give it a try?
