If you take a long position, you agree to buy an asset in the future at a specific price when the contract expires. When you take a short position, you agree to sell an asset at a set price when the contract expires. Bitcoin futures are definately manipulating the market. They are trying to crash the coin to oblivion.

Yes... ONE. My opinion is that Bitcoin futures is affecting Bitcoin prices based on many articles and counter arguments by credible analysts and speculators. TWO. Your video author isn't credible at all. THREE. History has taught us that people will fear monger you out of a position to only take that position themselves.
@cryptocoinscrew - I appreciate your opinion. Thanks for sharing it with us. Personally I believe that future's manipulation may occur once they have enough leverage, or perhaps when NASDAQ opens. I think the stagnant price drop had a lot to do with the Korea FUD happening, plus miners in China getting ousted, plus the Chinese New Years just around the corner, Valentines day around the corner. A lot can contribute.
Those are good factors for manipulation. We shall all see in time what happens and what may be the cause of it.

If they gain enough leverage. Right now they don't have enough leverage to move it much.
