My brother sent me a screenshot of a sponsored advertisement he saw on Facebook. He said to me ‘we can make good use of your writing skills to earn some income.’ I read the advertisement and told him I was interested. We joined the group on Whatsapp through the link that was provided on the page. My brother was more enthused than I was, even though I was interested, I still had my doubts. Different questions were running through my mind. Some were ‘how sure are we that we would be paid for the articles we write? How effective is this? Is this not a scam of some sort?’ I discussed my doubts with my brother and he reassured me that everything would be fine. I trusted him as usual.

The next day after registration and our account being approved, we proceeded to write our first post. Desmond did majority of the work because he had read far and wide about Steemit. He placed the post on our blog and we received some upvotes and good comments. I was impressed and gingered to do more because the feedback was great.

CHALLENGES

It has not been easy as we thought. We saw people getting as much as $500 on their posts and our first post received about $3. I was disappointed but Desmond took me through the process once again and I finally understood how it works.

Our second post received nothing because cheetah which is a robot which picks up on things from the internet when it is used in a post spotted a phrase we took from the internet to support our post. We learnt our lesson through the hard way and resolved to make our posts as original as possible.

We thought that we would get upvotes from the people we followed at all cost because we were in to help one another hit our targets but that is not the case. On one of our posts, we had about 80 views and less than 20 upvotes. We had written a good article, I believed, so why didn’t we get the upvotes we needed and why didn’t the viewers upvote after reading? My morale was going down the drain bit by bit but as usual, Desmond came through for me.

ACHIEVEMENTS AND RESOLUTIONS

It’s been 20 days so far and we have about 4 steem dollars. That is quite an achievement I must say. We have not been consistent with our posts and that has made us lose some steem dollars so we have resolved to do our best to be consistent as much as we can.

We have also resolved to make our posts more educative and informative as much as we can. We have worked on the originality of our posts and we have been pleased with the results so far. Cheetah got nothing on us anymore, lol.
Our main focus is not about the money. We want to inspire and motivate people as much as we can. Desmond is doing his best to educate people on honey on its health benefits since he is an entrepreneur who produces honey. I am a counselor and I have also resolved to provide the counsel needed to help people through whatever they are going through and I hope they get their solutions through the advice I offer.

So far, so good but it would be better. We are hoping for the best. We are counting on the knowledge of the whales on here to make our blog bigger and better. We wish you all the best and also a happy new year. More wealth and health.
