Feet Soft As Fog

"Feet soft as fog?" little Samuel asked. "How can that be Grandad?"
"There is no weight to a Granch," Grandad said. " They float in at nite. That's why they don't leave any footprints."
"So that's why no one can track 'em?" Susan said to her little brother Samuel.
"And that's why you don't go out at nite all by yourself. Always take a someone bigger than you." Grandad stated. "Because their feet are so soft, they can't carry much weight."
"Oh, so they can only take one small one," Susan said with authority to little Samuel, "And then we can't find you."
"I won't sneak out again," quivered Samuel.
And that's how the story of the Granch got it's start, in a little mud hut out in the bayou.
