When trending posts earn less than a hundred ...
Fellows, this post is for marking this moment, Mar 10 2017, when Steemit's trending page looks like this ... The top earning post gets only 2 digit reward of $80 something (incl. comments'). Ironically this post is a meme with a 6 figure SBD joke (but of course I get the humor) ... Out of the 4 top earning posts, 2 are for laughs ... I find them fun when I read them, but not fun when the trending page looks like this ... This is probably the first time I saw a under-hundred-dollars trending page. And let's not forget that less then 2 months ago, we just had an exciting 2017 Roadmap released ...
I do hope everything turns better from here. Maybe it could start with HF17? hopefully...
This is not a whining post. I just want to mark this moment.
I think you bring up a good point as to what is considered "evergreen content" and a wining post. This time humor prevailed and I do believe it prevailed as the photograph was of our beloved commander @ned (the whale-of-whales, the sovereign of steem).
I think that the currency of the time is "attention" and this is also reflected in that the winning post was a "meme". (ahh the millenial age)
Steemians at least came together in a positive fashion and this gives me hope.
Considered the moment marked... Now mark my words as well! Times will always change but I say to thee that I will BE a number one ranked post on Steemit and rest assured it will not be a meme.

thanks for sharing! it is marked of course :). The main thing I wanted to mark is 'under $100' and I hope in the future we can all look back and say: see!? steemit's top 1 post used to earn just $80! (as compared to the past that most people say here people used to make thousands or tens of thousands of dollars!).

would you care to elaborate more? I don't quite get what message this picture conveys ... the fact being furion's posts get fairly decent rewards in the past month - and I think he deserves it.
