Steemit Promote Feature - A Non-Starter

After you have finished writing the wonderful article that has been consuming your last couple of hours, you would be wondering how much will the article fetch once it enters the graphene blockchain?

There are many ways to market your article after it is published. You can even schedule the article to be published during primetime through @esteemapp or through services like streemian.com.

Steemit has a built-in feature that puts your article here:

How do you do it?

Simple, just click the 'Promote' button on the bottom right corner of your article and send some SBD to the @null account. I had sent 0.1 SBD by this way yesterday for posts as I was intrigued by this feature.

Now here comes the big question, is this feature really worth it?

Let us see, I have captured the promotion cost and the amount earned by the top 4 articles that are available in the promoted tab currently. Here are the results:

I actually gave up at this point as I knew that I was on a wild goose chase!

So what is the actually lesson learnt?

This is of no use as of now. Steemit has to fine tune their code to make it more worthwhile to use their 'Promote' feature.
