WHICH HAS THE MOST ADVANTAGE ON STEEMIT: UPVOTE, RESTEEM OR FOLLOW
authors making post and engaging on other authors post is how the steemit community is sustained and the more post made and engagements on those post is how we know the steemit community is growing. As we all know, here you can reward an author of a post in three ways, with an UPVOTE, RESTEEM AND FOLLOW. Lets say you are surfing through various steemit post and you find a post that gets your attention, you open it up and after reading through the post you like it and you want to appreciate the author, you can do one or two or all of these three things:
1. Upvote the post
2. Resteem the post
3. Follow the post author
imagine in this case a whale like @abit or @thejohalfiles @hendrikdegrote is browsing through various post on steemit and picks interest on a good post you made and drops a comment on the post asking you to choose just one of those three things for him to do, which would it be for you. The purpose of this post is to try and determine which of the three would give the most value to an author.
UPVOTE
This would seem to be the obvious choice. If the upvote is at full percentage it would be in the range of $1000 to $2000, wow! That would be something, wouldn’t it? And a bird in hand they say is worth more than a 100 more in the bush. Ok lets lets say choose the upvote then and its worth $1500, that becomes a onetime reward , that’s fine and that’s it.
RESTEEM
A resteem’s worth is in the number of active followers the user resteeming a post has and the worth of these followers steem powers, its possible for a user to have steem power that is next to nothing but have followers with considerable steem powers. Ok so you choose a resteem, the outcome here is not guaranteed but I think it has a higher probability of contributing more than $1500 to that post, here is why, a whale is bound to have a lot of followers with substantial upvote worth and if the post is really good its possible to get more resteems for it and that means more views and more views would most certainly translate to more upvotes that probably would be worth more than that whales upvote.
All are "equally" important depending on the author. For an author with weak contents, a full power upvote only will make him/her sit up and want to earn more. From there he/she could be on the trending page, gather more followers and resteems and work smart to live up to the new found fame.
A resteem could place the author in a position of opportunity for authors who dedicate time to good content.
A follow only helps good and fabulous authors who generate amazing content
yes you absolutely right @ehiboss but if you were in the post hypothetical situation which would you choose?
This all makes little sense, if the upvote you get would be worth $1000+ It would already get so much notice due to the top rankings in trending, that a resteem or follow would be neglectable.
like i said if you read all through that would be a one off reward. a resteem still has the potential to make your post go viral, a post might be on a trending page and yet not be seen by many, most post on trending page you would be suprised are upvoted by bots but if you could get resteems after resteems your post could earn more and yes still be on the trending page.
There is still a ton you don't about the trending page or upvotes. Look closely. It all doesn't matter. Leave your legacies on the blockchain. Gift humanity with power you now have in the form of steemit. target the search engines. Reshape boring the internet. Even if you got one million sbds it is still quality of the human that matters, the mentality, the vision. You are whale, forget the titles. think big. Apply foresight by this you will see becos alas, what if your post never earns, there is still a ton of rewards. check the past on steemit, there were months where you just couldn't earn and there was an entire month with virtually no rewards. stand out. Let your vision be staunch. Let it be deeply rooted or shaken by events. influence the blockchain. Let you shine. Learning is earning. Mine with your mind and grow. Learn new stuff and write. knowledge is still power. There are ton of rewards. It is always beyond steemit. You existed before steemit happened. This is all you need to attain success in everything, steemit and beyond. Mentality is key, let it be top notch. Dream is free, dream. Now there is an enabling enviroment; the steem blockchain, so play out your dreams in dream-bits, rehearse them till they attain fruition. You have the steemit community to give you feedback. Ultimately, find yourself and again you have steemit to accomplish this. There is nothing like whale or minnow. Be in a whale in the making and whales will look for you

most post on trending page you would be suprised are upvoted by bots Trust me, I am not lol. All I am saying is, is that which such a high value, you would most likely get more exposure. Since it would be on top of the general trending page. I get ur point though. I know plenty of people with certain tags constantly being on the trending page, with some of them still having very few views..
Personally I believe a resteem holds more weight due to the fact that that is more eyes on a persons content, and can lead to someone liking or following your content.
