Kindof a Dead Horse I'm sure... sorry. I just need guidance. Transfer SBD to BitCoin?steemCreated with Sketch.

in #steemit7 years ago

I just did my first transfer ever! It was scary and exhilarating...

It was only $4 LOL

This first transfer needed to be very small since I was very timid. It went smoothly... not difficult at all.

Here's my challenge: Why did the $4 of SBD turn out to only be $2.59 in my Coinbase Bitcoin wallet?

Did I do something wrong?

Is there an amazing guide and chart to point me too?

I did a search and found loads of posts about how to do it, but perhaps I missed the one that shows WHEN to do it and what losses/gains to expect.

Thanks for your help!

Thank you for sharing this time with me!

I think they take a small tax, like 1 or 2$, so if you transfer a very small amount, tax will seem really HUGE! I think it's something like that... Feel free to check my last post, maybe you’ll like it! <3

Ohhhhh! So when you do a transfer, it most likely is better to get the most bang for your buck. This is so cool! DaddyKirbs has been telling us to get on Steemit for a month or so. Excited to finally be here! :)

Thank you Troilo for the explanation.

Way to go Daddykirbs!!! You are a BTC'er. I rolled the dice about a year ago with just $100 of BTC. Glad I did. Super stoked to learn more from your short experience and everyone here about how to get started with Steemit!

Thank you for leading the way!

I'm kinda proud of that $2.60 😆

hahaha!!! you should be proud! You created $2.60 out of nothing!!!! But when you think of it...isn't that the same thing as a regular dollar? It really doesn't represent anything. It is just a "belief" that the paper dollar or digital dollar or DEBT DOLLAR....has any value.

So we now believe that Steemit and Bitcoin have a value. Other's do to. So there is now a value that can be transferred to dollars. SOOOOO COOL!!!!!!!

Thank you again Daddykirbs for your help... PS. When you have a chance I may need some critiquing of my first Steemit posts. Tear it apart man and help me improve!

It sounds like a lot for them to take out, but maybe it wouldn't be as noticeable on a larger amount?

I think you are correct. I'll keep that in mind for future exchanges.

Do you have a transaction address or a wallet address I could look at to see where the money went?

where do I find that? ... and how do I know which addresses are safe to share?

Your password and memonic password are the things you don't share. For example this is one of my bitcoin addresses 1JKTnXpfVJhbj2uL2H4pSM8fP8srZDwUzb. You can look up this address on https://blockchain.info/ and check all the transactions of that account. From their you can determine what the fee was. Fees have been relatively high with BTC recently. I paid $9 to move $2600 of BTC recently.

Are these high fees due to the increased value of BTC?

I blame the boffins.
Wait, they died for that information.
I blame the ghost in the machine.
Oh...that's not what she does?
Okay... okay. I blame Gus Gorman. That sneaky .005 thief!!

I don't have an answer but did get a laugh out of the image!!! LOL

I have never tried this before, looking forward to the excitement on my first transfer
