How Do You Participate? Simple, Ask Me Anything!

Seriously anything, the best 3 questions win SBD! I will decide based on which questions are the most insightful, intriguing, hardest to answer, or add the most value back to the platform. The deeper the rabbit hole you send me down to give an answer the more likely you are to win.

I will reply to all questions and upvote those that qualify, can’t wait to see what is asked this week!

Best Questions Win SBD

BBB9BEBC-26BC-4C79-A7B2-59AF110CCDF3.png

Another great week of questions guys, it made for an excellent distraction for me. We have some regular players it seems with newbies to the contest each week also. Some have forfeited their prize for the benefit of others directly or indirectly by not using the @Partiko mobile app, you guys rock giving the new guys a chance! This week the top 3 consist of deeper questions around Steem/SBD & SMT’s and one question about my Canadian heritage. I loved the one about my Canadian heritage as it’s a common misconception that all Canadians can speak French, great questions everyone!

Last Weeks Winners

  1. 5 SBD - @Chekohler Asked what I thought about SMT’s and how they would affect the Steem blockchain.
  2. 3 SBD - @BlessedMan939 Asked a 3 fold question about the price of Steem, should it be pegged and do we need SBD.
  3. 2 SBD - @Alan369 Asked whether all Canadians can speak French or is it only region specific.

For a complete listing of questions and answers please Check My Previous Post Week #7 Here

Thank You Again Everyone That Participated

@NathanMars @Ayasha @Alexabsolute @Ahmanik @Yetxuni @FrankCapital @KawaiiCrush

I am proud to host this contest for everyone to participate in the name of blockchain interaction, without all of you and your questions there would be no reason to do so!

Only One Rule!!!

  1. Ask your question using the @Partiko Mobile App all others do not qualify for entry but I will answer all questions.
  • Upvote & Resteem greatly appreciated for visibility but not mandatory.
  • One question per person, only your first question will be considered.
  • May include finer details for specification of my answer.

The more difficult/insightful/inspirational of a question the better your chances of winning(possibly the longer it will take me to answer also, please be patient) which will be decided 5 days from posting. I will upvote and reply to all qualifying questions as soon as I can and possibly not in order.

Did you read on the toilet when you were a child? 🙈🙉🙊

Posted using Partiko iOS

Hahaha love it!

Yes I did read on the toilet, I actually think it’s probably the only reason I finished any books. I had a whole collection of Bernstein Bears which I read all of them while on the toilet. If there was no book I would often read the label of anything I could reach, always thought it was odd that people needed instruction of how to wash their hair. My mother always had a decent collection of magazines just waiting, I think she had a package deal and included the National Geographic just for me to read.

Deeper thoughts, I think it’s a great tool to use! Bathroom time has always seemed like a time for deeper reflections for me and having knowledge readily available to absorb encouraged my desire for more 😎

Posted using Partiko iOS

Agreed! Our family has always been bathroom readers as well. My dad read War and Peace on the throne LOL

🚽📚belong together 🤓

Straight up!

My father always read western novels 😅

What are your thoughts on the legalization of recreational pot in Canada and how it will affect the country?

So far I think it’s positive overall, many little problems but I believe time will iron those out!

Thoughts:

  • Needed better organization with license approval and distribution.
  • Makes for a wide acceptance of Marijuana use helping to diminish the stigmatism surrounding the substance which isn’t particularly concerning if compared to health concerns for alcohol use.
  • The government wanted their cut of the largest black market in Canada.
  • It opened the door for better laws and regulations relevant to its use, such as driving prohibitions and charges.
  • Created a clean divide between recreational and medical users and new systems with being government and bylaw enforced should evolve into something similar to a pharmacy with doctors prescriptions.
  • Opened the door for further studies to be done without fear of backlash for the body conducting the study government or not.

I see the only real immediate effect it will have is further income for our country through tax’s. Everything else will come in time such as more data to relate health complications, better bylaws lowing congestion on the legal systems, further endorsement as a suitable replacement for many pharmaceuticals. The negative would be a slightly lazier population possibly slightly less hype and outrage prone if you could call that a negative 😉

Great question as always!

Would you rather have your favorite pizza delivered to you for the rest of your life for free at any time or 1 bitcoin?

That’s an easy one, 1 Bitcoin and I would invest it into Steem no hesitations. Few years from now those pizzas would get boring but that Bitcoin will bring infinite enjoyment!

Here’s my wallet address incase you were offering 😉😝😎

Notice it’s empty because everything I have is already in Steem 💪

1 bitcoin obviously 🙄

I donno.......the pizza is tempting :)

Lol yeah I guess 😂

Are you concerned about the recent negativity and fighting on the platform & do you think there will be major repercussions???

Posted using Partiko iOS

There has always been fighting and negativity if you look hard enough, we only get moments of peace when people loose motivation on front running the battles!

Recently we see a lot of fuss around things that concern the platform deeply which visibility and opinion on these subjects is necessary, such as if we don’t talk about Nazism we will not educate the future generations and history may be doomed to repeat itself. The problem I have with said negativity is the outrage and self justification in being offended by another’s opinion. When discussion falls to the low of name calling and trying to prove yourself better then another there is no longer a point that can be proven!

The repercussions can already be seen, major not really but they are obvious to me. I avoid posts which I see the battles and furthermore refrain from commenting on “pot stirring” comments till I research a little further the accounts involvement in those battle posts. Many users will get caught in the cross fire along the way(I have) and only the ones willing to stick their necks out will continue to participate in the battle, may be their sole purpose on this platform for all I know! Yet I see negativity as a necessity, yin yang style for energy will always balance itself.

The concerning part for me surrounds the issue with innocent people getting caught in the cross fire not knowing better then to keep their nose out of big money’s business, as big money sees it! The repercussion I can clearly see would be a bad rap for on-boarding new users and a slowing on adoption of our platform.

Posted using Partiko iOS

Yeah I guess your right it is something that’s always been there, just these last few weeks seems more prominent. Definitely not something I’ll be getting involved in “not my circus, not my monkeys” 😂😜

Posted using Partiko iOS

I think it’s kind of the inevitable evolution of social media, drama sells! Look at the whole Jake Paul thing on YouTube... just finished Shane’s series on it... the emotions are real but it’s like a mutual agreement to perpetuate things further for views.

Posted using Partiko iOS

Yeah maybe we should start another community “one beef DTube “ get in on this idea at ground level 😂😂😂😂

Posted using Partiko iOS

That’s one community that I would much prefer to stay away from 😅

Posted using Partiko iOS

I don't know if this has been asked in previous ask you anythings but here it goes.

What are your top 3 new features or improvements that dtube should implement first?

Nope that’s a new question!

  1. Evergreen content! DTube creator paid advertising to help support those of us with a high enough rep or something. Would require view count and with that would open the door for many sponsorships requiring such information.
  2. Witness Proxy through @DTube with a team doing research of which witnesses are benefiting the platform vs extorting it. They are already in the middle of the battle why not draw on our platforms users to further their own strength.
  3. Separation of trending from paid promotion, this alone will add so much value to those who organically get the following here and add a little hesitation on using upvote services.

Very good question my friend glad to see you participating!

Posted using Partiko iOS

I like those answers. Could you elaborate on number 1 a bit more for me? My knowledge in that area is a bit lacking.

I always love seeing your content my friend. I've been away from participating on steemit as much as I would like recently due to work and other projects but im getting back into it now that I have some more time.

Most definitely I can elaborate!
So evergreen content meaning forever getting paid for views even if passed the 7 day payout, host your own IPFS node and videos are forever playable 😉... basically mimic what’s happening on YouTube with Adsense except instead of outside funds from corporation ads we use only user created ads from authors with a high enough rep(60-65+) paid for in Steem or possibly even credit card drawing more money into Steem. Using rep as a whitelisting for being able to submit ads and display ads will both put more weight behind downvotes controlling who and what is advertised on DTube content and who’s posts the ads will appear on. Could be video ads which would require a view count for how many times an ad is seen on your content thus contributing to how much you receive from displaying the ads. Looking into sponsorships for social media I find many stipulations such as number of followers, view count or watch time and further analytics available to creators on this will help them build a case to get further sponsorships creating possibly for per person deals again bringing more ways for creators to earn and most likely more money into our platform.

Basically I see the biggest struggle with Steemit & DTube is from the 7 day payout and the creative burnout from forever needing to create to earn whereas YouTube if you create desired content and build a following you will be paid for a much longer duration making it sustainable to live a normal life while being encouraged to make the highest possible quality content despite the time needed to do so. I’m sure you know what I mean as I seen your reverse flash video and imagine that took a lot more time then a single payout period could reward for.

Keep up the hard work bro, I to have needed to refocus from time to time. Always put your wellbeing first and make sure you don’t hit that creator burnout, putting my wellbeing first just happens to align with my content creation 👍

Posted using Partiko iOS

Ok gotcha yeah I agree with you on this email points. I'm starting to slow down on my Dtube content creation to avoid a burn out myself. I'm working on so many projects that it's take up alot of my time and I don't want to just put out crap content because I feel that I have to.

I do agree with the issue on the 7day payout and I definitely agree with the analytics being needed. If we want to try and bring sponsor and outside money we need to show that the view and watch time is there and currently we have no way to do that.

Posted using Partiko Android

Same here man the line to walk between staying consistent in frequency vs consistent in quality is a very fine line and the burnout associated with daily is a must avoid... just took a 24 hr reprieve 😉

I hate to say it but the analytics was one thing DLive had over DTube, would be a huge blessing for creators to have some form of it even just for their own sake to know views vs votes.

Wow thanks for my prize @d00k13 so unexpected but always appreciated

I've been thinking about steemits growth lately and If steemit were to go mainstream and we're attracting millions of users to use the platform what is stopping large brands like say Nike from buying in huge amounts of stake and using it to promote their content through say an official account and through a network of influencers they support and turn this into another advertising platform?

No problem buddy 👍

I don’t think anything is stopping large companies from buying in and promoting other then their fear of the unknown volatility and investors.

It would have to be someone like myself let’s say with sponsorship using my own money to buy in and promote my brands with my own influencers as I doubt investors are willing to risk so much on a platform with such high volatility and no formal paid advertising built in.

As an investor looking in, I can see many flaws in our system to gain attention from corporations including the manipulation of the payout system and flags. Cost of buying in and promoting plus paying for man hours to upkeep vs free social media’s with just man hours. On top of that the general views of most people here being fairly critical of the mainstream and many of those people holding massive stake with a following that could suppress nearly any promotions if they put their mind to it. Then a quick comparison of the Steem market vs BTC market also makes the platform look doomed forever working its way lower since the very beginning plus we are inflationary so supply will nearly always outweigh demand. Being a large stake holder doesn’t look like a profitable endeavour at a first glance without having a deep understanding of how to work the system.

The real issue I see is with scalability of the Steem blockchain. HF20 is a good example aimed to reduce spam for the sake of stress on the witnesses but imagine we did have millions of active users the load on our top 20 would be immense. We currently require 64gb of ram minimum for a witness to run the chain and as we expand this will grow drastically which will become unsustainable if the price of Steem does not rise.

In short I believe it will come with adoption but we have many hurdles to overcome first to get there and it’s not a bad thing imo as any money flowing into the platform is good for all of us.

Posted using Partiko iOS

That is one hell of an answer and thanks for taking the time. I can see plenty of thought went into it. Yeah I suppose it may not be the most profitable long term excercise. I was just thinking as crypto grows and if we remain one of the most active crypto communities brands that catch on eventually will be licking hteir lips at the thought of getting in front of eyes of active crypto users such as steemians and steem dApp users.

You make some fair points about the self policing of the community that could mitgate paid advertising campaigns that don't seem to benefit the community

But yeah like you said all good problems to have lol! There are so many possiblities its an exciting time to be part of the platform

Your quite welcome and thanks for participating once again.

I do believe we will see implementation of some form of advertising but most likely it will come as a form of user endorsed adds with links in post, have you seen the DClick project? It seems to be aimed at starting this off but still working within the Steemit system but also linking external advertising for those who choose it.

Most definitely is a great time to be involved with Steemit, SMT on the horizon and all. I can imagine this time next year to have my own set of sponsorships or brands that help to continue my journey.

Suppose, human beings live on Mars, and they use Bitcoin to make transfers from earth to Mars and vice versa.

Then Bitcoin will be universal currency? 🤔

Posted using Partiko Android

I would think bitcoin would be an interstellar currency 😅 we would first have to learn how to travel to another universe to be universal 😘

Hello! When trying to upload my comment by partiko, I got a message from sc2-sdkerror. Then I upload it here. :/

Hello! It is a contest interesting! Jajaj encouraged me to participate: My question is who are you?. But, do not be confused when you respond. I'm not asking: your name, your abilities, your tastes, if you are human or robot, your religion, your username, your sex or your hobbies. I want you to answer me who are you? .

Ohh that’s to bad, I will answer your question anyways. If you need further assistance with Partiko feel free to check out their discord I’m sure someone will assist you.

So who am I? I like this question.

In one sentence, I am a knower on the path of knowing to discover the known!

Deeper dive:

I am a caring individual who wishes the best for others despite our differences!

I - love openly, care deeply, feel genuinely, support devotedly, empower triumphantly, endure persistently yet I am only what is inside. I am me, not my name but my name represent me. I bake but calling me a baker only describes my employment. I blog&vlog but I am not only my interests. I believe in many things but my beliefs do not define me.

I could go off on a tangent and state, I am just a mere particle in the endless existence we call reality perceiving a journey through passing of time and endless change.

Very deep question 👍

Why did Dan leave steem?

This is a good question!

I read that “he believes there is a fundamental problem with the platform” is his official statement. It was also stated that it could not be corrected but my assumptions is that he could not personally correct them.

I found in many other users comments that he was a proponent of free speech very early on which brings me to assume he was more inclined with censorship and creating a less than decentralized system. This leads me to believe the problem he perceived was free speech and the inability to suppress a large stakeholders opinion.

He did however go and start another platform so it very well could just be the wall he came to while trying to make said change that pushed him away. Obviously he is still interested in the tech side of things but this could all be relative to income.

It’s a hard one to pin down on a single answer but it seemed to be a culmination of reasons but largely surrounding the platform not being within the vision he had for it.

Posted using Partiko iOS

Thanks for the easily understandable answer. I sometimes wonder who is in the right path! Dan or Ned!

Posted using Partiko Android

Well honestly I think they both are, they did have a falling out relevant to the issues Dan seen with steemit so I doubt that moving forward on this project together would have been possible. As for what Ned is working on now, it seems like he is the genius behind the tech where Ned is behind the marketing. Even if Steem is just the social crypto that opens the door to mainstream I believe it to be a necessary tool in crypto adoption, look at how many kids spend hours on their phones watching YouTube or chatting on Facebook and Twitter. What I wonder about is if Dan will address the over complication of blockchain function and security such as mobile adoption and 2FA, this would be a game changer in my opinion.
