Curator Cat Says: Interaction and Engagement Still MATTER, here on Steemit!
With things in the crypto markets being a bit sketchy these days, and many people on Steemit just not posting that much anymore, interaction and engagement here is more important than ever!
Contemplating the situation...
Whyever would you say THAT, Curator Cat?
Well, because this is actually a good time to use the lower activity level to interact with the people who are here and expand your follower base... because these are the people who care more about about the social and content creation aspects of the community, as opposed to just "making a quick buck."
When I see user statistics that show fewer active users, I'd be willing to bet that most of those who "left in disgust or dismay" are also the ones who were pretty much here only for the money.
If those of us who are still here because we're just enjoying the site and the community come together and support each other, we'll all be much better off when the inevitable cycle starts another upturn.
Yes, it's a bit cluttered, around here...
Because that's the thing with economic and market cycles: What goes UP tends to come DOWN, but when something is really DOWN, it tends to looks for ways to go back UP.
Nope, this Cat is no wannabe economist, just a keen observer of the world.
If You're Still Here, Interact!
Of course, another thing that's in favor of staying active these days: We have this here "rewards pool" and it's a certain size, and gets added to a bit every day.
With fewer people around posting, those who are still here will each get a proportionately larger share, in terms of Steem. Yes, I know, the price of Steem is super low. Which means you can earn more Steem now and have a bigger stake when things turn around again.
Why do I think things will turn around?
The Long Term View...
Well, a lot of people thought the Internet was toast and "just a fad that was fading" after the dot-com bubble burst, back in 2001-02. And yet, now everyone on the planet almost uses the web, in some way.
If we actually believe this blockchain gig is a "game changer" in terms of how people transact, then it's not about to go away. And it's my understanding that the Steem blockchain is a top-notch thing, with lots of applications waiting to come to market... so it's likely to be one of the "survivors" in the future.
But all that aside, I just enjoy the community here!

Its very unfortunate people don’t learn, when the market is down lots of them ghost and don’t want to be involved, but when the market is bullish everyone wants to eat.

It's ironic, in a way. The principle is "buy low, sell high." Instead, people end up buying high, and selling low... the power of fear is great.

I am here for a long run, mostly because I believe in this platform and I am really enjoying it.
To tell you the truth I am not a social media person, but I did get addicted to steemit real fast and after being here for over a year and posting pretty much daily, I am still loving it.
You're so right. It's too easy to lose focus when we aren't getting the monetary return we thought we would. I've been converting various cryptos into Steem because there is life here. This is a blogging platform and it's nice to see more writers than entrepreneurs. We also have to think about annual cycles, maybe during the winter more people will find the time to blog.
Gorgeous cat photos @curatorcat Although many have left steemit and hopefully will return when things pick up, there are still many others willing to interact and keep steeming on. It iS a great community and I'm sure we see improvement one day.
