Here's why I JUST stopped my Steem Power
It's been a long time coming, but I've officially stopped it.
Just after receiving my weekly power down, and right before I transferred to Poloniex, I decided it was time to stop. I powered back.
I give Steem 5 years of my money and time...and then maybe I'll withdraw my retirement :)
I've decided- I'm in it to win it. I'm Full-Steem ahead. Synereo is dead. Akasha sucks.
Steemit...I'm back for good.
Less and less people are going to be powering down, with the new inflation change. Best thing that could have happened. Cheers...this thing is going to work, and continue to get better.
Ned and Dan are still working as hard as ever, and Steemfest looks more enticing.
The community is getting sexier...and it's not perfect, but it'll continue to be the best decentralized social media platform of all, as it has quite the lead.
Also, this is my first written blog post on here in a while, and it marks my commitment to the platform.

Time-length awareness...nothing is going to be able to catch up to Steemit, at this rate. PLUS it's decentralized, and screw Facebook deciding what makes real news. Maybe one day I'll be able to upload my videos, without having to fear Google demonetizing them like David Seaman. Maybe content should matter more than fake views and subscribers that are BOUGHT (I'm looking at you, Hannah Montana).

i can tell you are passionate. I am not so informed to the tech side of things, im slowly learning but enjoying the ride, and absorbing the information people such as yourself provide to so that I can gain a clearer understaning of exactly whats happening in this new exciting world and more specific, steemit. huge ups.

@papa-pepper of all the people on steemit you and your song have infected my entire existence lol, im not kidding i actually dreamed about you last night shoveling snow in my front yard singing that song.. in the exact way you do in your video.. i dont know if its silly memories of past youth in the church or God himself directly speaking to me through you..this is completely in a comical way as well, while you were shoveling snow in my dream a red tomato was singing along in the tree next to you. just strange stuff!!

I have experience shoveling snow too, being from Wisconsin originally, but no experience with singing tomatoes, other than maybe some VeggieTales that the kids were watching.

I do know bob the tomato! I was a huge fan, every since I saw them on the big screens as a Jesus North West Concert in washington. Think you have def just sparked some of those old youth group days, i was a 7 day a week involved christian for majority of my younger life, you just remind me of that era, maybe even someone specific i cant put my finger on it, and your song just drove that home. lol totally random i know, but i always wonder what people out there thinking about stuff I put up so thought i would share all that. Its cool the things that hit us and lead us down certain trains of thought. I may have to do a parody rendition of your song to get this out of my system. old school style proper.. ;)
At least you're already "on the bus", which is more than the average person (tech saavy or otherwise!). Cryptocurrency continues to gain traction, and the whole time earlier adopters are the ones coming out ahead. You'll be one of those, surely...and Steemit is growing in it's infancy so much, that I'm damn proud.

No worries man. The entire youtube messaging system sucks, it was the only way I could contact you privately. Will be good when we get our own system implemented here.
I agree. I'm sure it'll come out, in time, though I have no clue as to the current roadmap for Steem. I need to do some more research, and maybe read that white paper fully.

Whitepaper needs to be updated but can be found in the right side of your screen. Open the tab on Steemit.com on the right hand side of the screen. Any screen, tab to open is on right side... next to your display pic next to "submit a story."

The community of steemit is really nice and real. No one here seems to be trolls just for sake of being trolls. I hope their social media version is equally as awesome.
after HF 0.16 a lot of people powered down but didn't sell. Powering up is for your surplus, and if you want to try and play the curation game. I just powered down so that I knew I had enough for the most expensive thing I would want to spend money on suddenly (a trip back east to slav-land) plus a little extra incase, and to be able to power down more. I didn't want to lose too much of my influence on the forum just yet.
But next week, and again every month for a while, I will be powering up quite a lot that I am receiving in my bank account and want to save.
I've been pimping the shit out of Steemit/STEEM the past few weeks on social media. I'm getting more excited about this platform by the day. It obviously still has some growing to do (community & development) but it's on the right track. I never liked making YouTube videos but Steemit was one of the few things that got me passionate enough to do so a few months back.
Awesome dude! I did quite a bit of pimpage myself, when I first got on board, back in July. At certain points I became less enthused, as I wasn't sure what to think about the founders and decisions made this far. What I am proud of is the way that it continues to improve, and listen to the community. I'll probably begin doing some YouTube videos pertaining to Steemit again soon :) You should go back and do the same

Number of developers joining/doing projects on top of Steem is growing and it will keep growing. Check out steemtools.com for such tools and userbase will continue to climb with time as well...

Ahahah i love steemit. I tually deleted my facebook last week to make the switch. Theres definstely a couple bugs to live with .. Like thepoor keyboard typing ability on mobile :P . cant wait for the full release beyond beta
