Is motivation a skill that we can train?

Thinking of the big clichés and typical phrases that sometimes we raise to increase or maintain our motivation, some of them such as: give 200% or put your heart to be able to achieve something. However, many of these words lack value and do not really help the state of motivation.

If we talk about motivation as that inner strength that is fed from different sources and allows keeping the person / team strong, with commitment and commitment to achieve a goal, then we must resort to a set of psychological laws that allow a person to give the best.

What are these psychological laws that we can get hooked on?

1. The first of these is to transmit confidence and security to each person or component of the team, since no one can feel motivated under the emotion of fear, threat or humiliation. This point should also be reinforced by emphasizing talents and abilities rather than negative points.

2. Not highlight what is being done wrong but rather focus on what is required of each person or group to achieve what is wanted. Showing solutions, alternatives or examples helps clarify and show the direction in which you want to go.

3. Maintaining serenity and respect is essential, since deranged leaders are few credible and nobody can follow someone who is not or seems credible.

4. Appeal to the discourses that move the emotions and where mentally visualized what you want to achieve. In this way the mind is focused on what is wanted and the emotion that represents the motor and the energy to reach it is added.

5. Celebrate every small triumph or success. This allows increasing the importance of each step that is given and showing what is important to do, beyond the final result. On the other hand, not celebrating the positive will not lead to winning either.
