I think there is no reason for such concern. EOS can't be developed and released without proof of concept. For such a thing it is necessary to migrate to EOS platform at least existing one real blockchain with large number of users and transactions.

    They have a test network almost ready to go I think. We should examine the possibility of how a migration plan would work and yes, if one is necessary. I think it is necessary.
