Bummer, I didn't know that either. Maybe one day Steem will have an auction system independent of the voting system.
There is a marketplace being developed. I don't know if it will have auction features but that certainly wouldn't surprise me.
We both learned something!
It would be nice to have like a Raffle sub or something!
The problem is it all draws from the common reward pool; manipulating votes means you are pulling rewards away from other posts that are being voted on merit. If each sub had its own pool that would be different.
