A typo in "12. Discontinuation of Services" in the Steemit ToS
Recently, Steemit updated its terms of service and privacy policy, which led to lots of discussions. While I'll also write a short (I know you don't believe it'll be short. me neither actually) opinion in Korean, I'd first like to point out a grammar mistake (I'd rather say it's just a typo) in the Steemit ToS (https://steemit.com/tos.html).
Steemit ToS (https://steemit.com/tos.html)
In 12.2., "you will be may not be able to" should be "you may not be able to." While I'm not a native, I'm pretty sure that I'm right.
I think this happened due to copy & paste from ToS of other services, e.g., [Blockchain.com] (https://www.blockchain.com/terms/) (that runs blockchain.info), and so on (just google "you will be may not be able to").
Blockchain.com ToS (https://www.blockchain.com/terms)
Of course, I know that this kind of ToS is never written from scratch these days, but it was still disappointing to see a typo in some important and scary ("Discontinuation of Services") section, even if it's a usual and standard term in most services. I understand that some ToS is needed to service Steemit porperly, but I sincerely hope that Steemit will maintain the decentralization spirit as much as they can in the future.
ps. I also made a comment on the Steemitblog's post: https://steemit.com/steemit/@blockchainstudio/re-steemitblog-updated-steemit-com-terms-of-service-and-privacy-policy-20180619t012146992z
I mainly post in Korean about blockchain. Someday hopefully I'll post in English as well, especially blockchain cartoon. If you're interested, please see follows.
