Video from January where I recommend that Twitter incorporate a cryptocurrency system into its platform and where I describe/predict a skeleton version of Steemit

Twitter could have beaten Steemit to the punch! Back in January in the notes section of the following video I said: "Twitter can solve its problems by incorporating Bitcoin into its business model instead of only expanding the 140-character limit. People could pay small fractions of a Bitcoin for the ability to expand their Tweets or people could just pay to Tweet. Surely the minds at Twitter can figure out a solution that will use Bitcoin. One of these days a corporation will figure out an ingenious way to use Bitcoin and that company will benefit immensely."

Steemit has figured out an ingenious way to incorporate cyrptocurrency into its platform and it is benefiting immensely. Imagine if Twitter would have taken steps to to get on the cryptocurrency paying path that Steemit is currently on. Would Steemit exist as we know it today if Twitter would have been proactive?

My video also talks about users paying Bitcoin in order to filter and post and I think this is something that Steemit should consider. An optional micropayment filtration system can be implemented on Steemit that will enable the discouraging of spam posts and the boosting of good content. Steemit is not perfect, but it has taken a significant step in the world of cryptocurrency enabled social media. Clearly one big player should have taken this step a half year ago and others are probably mulling over what steps they need to take now. The fact that Twitter could have done something shows us that other major social media entities might do something very soon. Stay tuned.

I totally agree with you. I really enjoy Twitter, but they don't seem interested in taking risks, so here we are with Steemit. If only they had listened to you...

Twitter is going to get steemrolled.

Steemit is bad news for Twitter on many levels. At some point Twitter investors will realize what could have been and that could hurt the stock price even more. Let's hope Steemit serves as a constant reminder to the big boys of what happens when you move first and implement a cryptocurrency layer into your business model. I also hope Steeemit does not become stagnant like Twitter and understands that it always must be ready to change. I think allowing people to spend Steem dollars or Steem on some sort of content filtration mechanism that shuns spammers is something that needs to be considered now. Thanks again for commenting.
