If litecoin (the first shitcoin in my opinion) can make it over $200 from $6 in 365 why can't steem?
If you watched Litecoin last year, for no good reason it went from about $6 to over $200! WHY? It is a shitcoin! It is just Bitcoin with SCRYPT for it's PoW algorithm.
Litecoin was the first fork off bitcoin that made it, with the argument that using the EXACT same code EXCEPT the PoW algorithm. They swapped out SHA256 for SCRYPT to prevent ASIC miners. Well today we have ant miner ASICS and other brands that mine SCRYPT coins... So the "benefits" that the ORIGINAL concept of Litecoin was created out of is already flawed and defeated.. ASIC proof was the marketing term of Litecoin.. Funny we NEVER hear that term anymore ;)
If you track me you notice I rarely talk about Litecoin, and when I do it usually is negative. Their codebase is not updated often, and their team is a mess. They offer nothing that Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, and Bitcoin Gold (and the other 100x clones) can't already with FAR more community support and developer support already!
So if Litecoin can go for no good reason from $6 to over $200 (at it's highs), why can't STEEM, a REAL game changer in the crypto space go over $100 or $200 even this year? I believe not only is it possible, but it WILL happen!
My conclusion is that as people wake up, they will realize communities matter more than coins, and STEEM has in my opinion the largest most unified community in the crypto game to date!

Haha excellent point big deej. Steemtools.com seems to have an endless amount of applications built on steem from the community. And most a lot more useful than crypto kitties. And I think steem is still waiting for smart contracts to come, and that will enable decentralized apps to get going as well.
Hit the nail on the head there! Once the smart contracts on steem go live things are going to be ground breaking! With 0 fees and 3 second block times there will be very very very few coins that will even dream of competing! Combine that with the huge community already built up and information sharing network BUILT ON TOP of steem! GAME OVER! Steem to $100!

Damn , really ! Thnx for your vision . seeing how just a coin used only for transfer get to 10B cap , a social media platform with incentive steem should easily reach 20B cap !
Exactly, and STEEM is FREE to send and only 3 second block times, compare that to PAID transactions with litecoin and 2 minute block times! WHY would you bother?
People shilled xrb and took it to 2B mcap from 20M or lower on the basis of the argument that it was fast and free . And here we got Steem with the most no of transactions in blockchain and people are not talking about it yet . I guess the smart ones are accumulating as much as they can before the great Pump .

I agree. We are more of a community than Litecoin. Last time I commented such a bullish fact on Steem I got super flagged. I wish there were challenging algorithms for the bots to solve from downvoting comments automatically.
Most flagging is retaliation, you probably pissed off a litecoin fanboy who had more rank than you. Don't let it get to you, we are a community that supports good steemians, the good always rise to the top ;)
Litecoin is useful for sending money that's it imo but there are many secure coins for that. somewhat of money flow in, reaches destination, then goes out. But Steem actually has branches of utility backing it. All in one everything. We are still beta, eventually the devs will make this platform the go to for 100x more people I see easy with 100x more people value of steem to grow 100x also. 🍻 thank you for the good updates !
STEEM and steemit are not the same, there are 100s of development teams working on building amazing tools and systems on top of Steem itself!

Now that I'm finally ready to buy, what's the best coin to buy to transfer to steem? I'm seeing that I can't buy with fiat, which I really like, but
is there one with a better exchange rate to maximize the bang for my buck?
I would use gdax preferably and buy Eth or BTC then you can use blocktrades from inside your wallet on steemit. If you want to go through bs and try to get a better price you can attempt to use bittrex or poloniex but I find blocktrades to be more than fair and very very fast.
Cool. Won't mess with any arbitrage business. I'll get ETH through gdax as you recommend. I've not used them yet, and paying tx fees sounds enticing.
Limit order to buy you pay no fee then withdrawing from gdax they pay the tx fee so you literally pay no fees the whole trip!
