Engagement

Is such an important thing when it comes to doing Steemit right. I've said this almost a year ago and I'll say it again because it's not talked about enough. If you're reading this because the title interests you then it probably means you're here on Steemit to grow your account. You want to gain followers, and most importantly you want to have your posts viewed and (hopefully) liked by your readers.

There's no better way to drive traffic to your posts than putting yourself out there and get people to notice you.

Not just any random people. Steemians, those with a steem account who can comment and upvote your posts. Which means you gotta get in the comment trenches of steemit to have people see your name and a small piece of what you offer. Now I'm not saying spam, you're free to go ahead and comment "Nice post follow me" 2 million times with a bot
to all the posts for all i care, you wont get results. People will hate you maybe, and that's not what you want.

The $1.80 Comment Strategy

Now I recently talked about Implementing the $1.80 Strategy among other things in my last Soliloquy post. What the heck is the $1.80 Strategy? well, every time I read a post i'd leave my "2 cents" in the comments. do that 90 times a day, Voila! $1.80 spent a day. If you haven't noticed, almost all the most successful Writers on the Steemit share one similarity in that asides from writing great stuff that their audience loved, they all comment like CRAZY!! there's not one heavyweight more than a year old I know of who has not made less than 10,000 comments in the past year. Do what successful people are doing, then you'd win.

And it's natural that with so many comments you leave on the internet, there would be as many replies.

Sometimes it will get overwhelming to click click click on every reply link to navigate to a post and leave your reply.

If that does happen, Let me introduce you to this wonderful tool created by lovely duo @roxane and @oroger!!!

Fast-Reply lets you consolidate all the replies of your posts and comments in a neat queue that you can reply ala email style!

They have thought through about this tool so thoroughly! to be honest I fell in love with the tool the moment i knew what it does. Thank you @roxane and @oroger!! Not only because the obvious ease of use and significant increase in my productivity to reply comments, Fast-reply actually solves a deep-rooted technical issue of using the Steem blockchain. Anyone who does rapid-fire commenting will often see this issue. Each comment has a 20 second cool-down period and each vote has 3. This is set by the devs of the steem blockchain for rather sound reasons, but can be a limitation for those who are uber-active on the platform.

The UI/UX is super easy to the eyes and simple to use even at version 0.1! you dont even need to tutorial to figure out how to use it! Read the other person's comment, select your voting weight using either the preset buttons or the slider (to the comment), type out your reply, then click! It's done! You can even choose whether just reply without voting, vote without replying, vote and reply, or just ignore the comment if it's spam or something!

As we talked about how each comment has a 20 second cool-down period, using Fast-Reply you don't need to wait! the tool will put your comments and votes into queue, wait 20 seconds and post it for you. You can type away 100 replies and just let the tool run it's course as you move on do other things. Do keep in mind to keep the page running until the queue is finished. Since it's still version 0.1, it only works when your page is opened. It does not work after you closed it, though you can move to other tabs to go watch a Youtube video or something. You most likely deserved it after replying dozens of comments hahahahaha!

by the way, this tool is also graciously made open-source by the lovely creators of which the source code can be copied from their Github link here for those who either want to inspect it or run it from their own machine or perhaps even suggest to improve it if they can/want. The rest of us can use the Live Demo of the app which I'll link in the clicky-button below:

Fast-Reply.929bde0.png

In case you worry, it uses Steemconnect through your posting keys, Steemconnect is the safest way to connect your steem account to Steem platforms other than Steemit.com and i use it myself. Also none of your activity of data is stored anywhere (well other than the steemblockchain itself as in your votes and replies) else. As the app is a client-side tool, meaning no the servers are only live when you open it. Again, Github link is there for the programmers to vet if they want.

Open-source Contribution

@roxane and @oroger are looking for people who want to help make Fast-Reply a better experience. If you want to contribute, they are especially looking for graphic designers. But im sure any help will be appreciated. Even just dropping a thank-you message to them would be great if you can't offer anything else!

Conclusion

You have to keep dropping comments on steemit and answer as many replies as you can, if not all of them. That is the cost of getting noticed on top of the stuff you create. It's just simply not enough to post post post and not do anything to foster a relationship with your current and prospective audience. Using this app you can make sure you dont miss any replies.

What you think about the tool? I just wished I had discovered it earlier and start making use of it to make my life easier and grow my account!

woow :D Thaaank you so much :) <3 Let's empower the whole Steem community and give back time to everyone to keep enjoy their real life more than the online one ;)

@roxane mon plaisir!!!

I just thought that after using the tool and see how awesome it is, EVERYONE has to know about it!!!!

Thanks for making the tool in the first place!!! I'd imagine this has saved you hours of work!!!! IMO the UI looks good enough that not much improvement is needed in terms of the graphics. but who knows!! Maybe we'd get further wowed again come v0.3!

Lets empower the Steem community indeed!!

YES !
I would love that EVERYONE know about it @awesomianist ! Because it can really impact positively their life (and time ;-)).
On V3 I think we will have a new design @mkt is working on it ;)

@roxane woah already a teaser for V3?! Love it!! Can't wait for the release!

L.O.L @awesomianist, your title really did catch my eyes. I agree with your statement on how to be notice. Leaving a comment on others post no only will introduce/put ourself out for other to see but it will also help to promote the post/increase the value of the post if we are able to leave a comment good enough. That is what I think.
Thanks for the kind opinion. Will be sharing with other.

Hey!! Hahah i'm glaf it did!

And yes that was the point i was trying to get at!! Value begets value, if we are willing to spend the time and effort to starting a connection with someone, it might not sound as "profitable" as 'follow and like my post pls' but in the long run i know that the relationship we build with peers and community will build us up together..

We rise not by toppling others, but by raising everyone together.

Hardfork 20 will make the 20s to 3s for commenting. The team have to work on something else soon...https://busy.org/@steemitblog/blockchain-update-3-hardfork-20-and-release-19-4-appbase-statsd-and-rocksdb

Why you'd say so? They've created an excellent frontend tool for a specific type of users and released it with an MIT license. Plus the comment consolidation thing is the main reason why Fast-Reply was created in the first place.

Hardfork 20 wont change the appeal of the tool other than perhaps make the runtime shorter in terms of the queue (my terms may be wrong but i hope you get my meaning). I'd say HF20 will make it easier to use.

Thanks for dropping by!!

the comment consolidation thing is the main reason why Fast-Reply was created in the first place.

It would make more sense now. If it was created to counter the 20s commenting limit then it would be awkward soon. Understood what you were trying to say.
