The Redfish/Minnow Problems/Issues and What Have You

Everyone's here in Steemit for the money. Don't delude each other, everyone here wants some extra cash. That's the main thing about Steemit and why it keeps growing because people keep joining mainly for the money. And so we poor minnows scramble for upvotes and beg to be noticed and such. Pathetic right? We upvote each other, dust values or no dust value, who cares as long as we earn something right? Those who take the site seriously just pray for some big juicy upvote everyday or whenever we post good quality long form content.

The whales probably don't have this problem. They go about their flag wars and such because they are way above minnow problems as far as I can tell. All they have to do is self upvote and voila yummy mummy SBDs!

So anyway we who choose to go the redfishes/minnows way are here to earn measly money for whatever reason. We post quality or not quality posts and such but then yeah the ever-present problem of no one seeing it is our everyday concern. We minnows should not expect to get big juicy upvotes for every post. Of course we would be happy everytime we get them though.

There are DMania memes getting big juicy upvotes over some long posts. Some people think it is not fair, but some people can't make long detailed posts so they go that route and so it is fair to them.

Some people just post photos and get big juicy upvotes too. It all depends on what we think is valuable. We each have our own sense of value and so when our sense of values don't match, poof! Poof!

Recently I just realized something too. There seems to be people who are against bid bots but why do you think they are popular to minnows? Because we minnows feel our posts are not appreciated of course. Some big fishes do not understand that because hey they have the power and the money to burn, perhaps they didn't even go through what we minnows go through everyday, why would they care if some minnows earn some small SBDs from their posts, they play the big game and they want plenty of SBDs.

Hahahahaha maybe when I get a big fat paycheck I will go kaput on Steemit but for now I'll be posting stuff I feel like posting.}

Out of the thousands of people on Steemit, how does one catch anyone's attention? Build a community they say. Oh yeah there are good communities here. There's a lot of initiative going on like the @newbiegames, @ifc, @newbieresteemday, the deadpost initiative, free resteem services, the music and art curators and so on but out of the thousands of members, do you think that is enough? This is why bid bots and resteem bots have value and yet users of bid bots are seen or somehow looked upon negatively? Or is it just the big fishes who are looked upon negatively when they use bid bots? They have the money so they use it and so the site members cry out site abuse.

There is a change coming though. I see some bid/resteem bots are now curating posts. I see big fishes curating posts. Oh that's all good of course but if people want natural upvotes and naturally trending posts then big fishes need to vote curated posts too and vice versa.

I have seen the problem of a post being upvoted by a big fish and not curated by some curators. Of course because it might be unfair to other minnows who don't have any upvotes at all right? Better to spend their upvotes elsewhere where no one has upvoted it right? What then is the use of the trending page for naturally upvoted posts without any bid bots?

I have never been on any other site where you get the most roller coaster emotion out of it except here in Steemit. No it does not compare at all to how much worse being in love/infatuated or in a relationship is, duh, but it's terrible to feel sad and unappreciated for a time then happy and elated the next just because of some big juicy upvotes.

This Steemit site is a crazy place to be. Makes people do all sorts of things for money. Hah. Of course some people do stuff here not for money too. Lemme do something else not for money soon but I will still use bid bots and resteem bots too. It is helpful to get the message out there. If I get upvoted and get some big juicy SBDs well thank you, I appreciate it I'd love that.

People keep saying posts on the trending page are shit posts and that no one reads them. (Oh people do read them.) If that is a huge issue then big fishes should do something about it. Upvote those that are worth upvoting even if it has already been curated. Curators should upvote those who are already upvoted by big fishes and keep the trending page relevant. Don't go the flagging/downvoting route because it makes anyone on the receiving end feel bad. That's how your flag wars start. But heck what do I know. I'm just a redfish/minnow trying to earn some money on here.

Even if we minnows downvote/flag spammers, some of them who are unaware come back to downvote our other posts/comments too. No flag war for minnows though. Haha. Minnow flag wars don't get that much attention maybe. We minnows don't matter that much so we don't get in the "Steemit news" that much. We don't have any control on the trending page but we can vote whoever witness we like. We can also upvote posts we like even if our upvote counts for dust, right?

If you are not aware, there's the dust issue going on too with the 0.01 upvote I and other people like to spread all over the place, some due to ignorance and some because it shows appreciation to others however misguided it may seem to the dust threshold believers.

I didn't read the post about it but as far as I know it goes like: If you upvote a comment and your voting power/worth is less than 0.02 then don't upvote at all on any comments but do it on the main posts instead because it won't be worth any SBD earned for the upvoted comment. Save your upvotes they say.

Well Steem price is rising so I think it's still okay now to upvote any comment under 0.02 because it has a 0.01 SBD value now. I checked my upvote one time and saw an SBD value but heck I just upvote because I appreciate the comment or the post not because it will earn them SBD. That's why my voting power is always low. Got used to Facebook and Instagram likes so that's how it is. Doesn't matter to me if my upvote is dust, I will show my appreciation and like (upvote) a comment/post the way I like it. It's how I want to spend my upvote because hey isn't it just a measly dusty amount anyway?

I thought this was a free site where censorship is celebrated and porn/nsfw is accepted and given a juicy big upvote? And people will judge you and think bad of you for voting for certain witnesses or upvoting a certain post/comment? What? So porn/nsfw is right and politics and freedom to do what we want is wrong on Steemit? What the hell is wrong with this website?

Aren't we supposed to do whatever we want here (without hurting others of course!) just to earn money? So why bother complaining about anything huh? We're all here to earn money so why care if minnows can't have our own say on anything huh?

What do you think? Maybe I should make a contest on how each of us in Steemit can make it a better website and see if anything changes. Lol. Oh but I don't have enough SP so no, someone else hold the contest and dole out juicy prizes pls and maybe I will join because hey, I'm just a small minnow who slowly but surely builds up the SP and don't care about renting SP for the meantime. Having a bit of added SP is nice too so thanks a lot @apsu! ♥

Maybe they don't have flag wars or some such. Maybe they don't have any problems like we English speakers do? I dunno. Maybe I should translate some of their posts now and find out.
