This is an interesting read and advice for everyone, especially for newbies as mentioned by Ainie.. There is a saying Give Respect and Take Respect which is applicable in the case of steemit too.

It is better to have the pain of visiting some close steemiens - that I would like to call as Friends- and check for their new posts since there is no option of any notification in steemit as of now. So depends on the available time check few profiles and if any new posts seems to be worth, read, upvote and comment genuinely...
